Please say a prayer for my wife and kids
So my wife an I had an appointment with our high risk OB today for a check up on our incoming twins Jack and Addison.
We tried to get pregnant for 2.5 years and went through 3 IUI's and 1 round of Invetro IVF. It was VERY hard and VERY expensive. My wife was crushed today by the news. Well after the ultra sound the Dr. said the girl is much smaller than the boy and my wife was ordered to stage 3 bed rest. This is one step below hospital bed rest. We've got 16 weeks to go till D day. Anyone have experience with this? I will do anything to keep my little ones safe but boy it's scary! Please say a prayer for us. My wife can no longer work and is basically bed ridden. Here are the instructions from the Dr.: 8-10 Hours of sleep. Rest in bed all day, and on your left side as much as possible. You may only get up to go to the bathroom and take a short shower. Do not climb stairs unless absolutely necessary. You will need someone else to do all the household chores and childcare. Eat meals in bed, lying on your side. Leave house only for Dr. Appointments or emergencies. They are going to re-evaluate her in 2 weeks and see if we need to put her in the hospital. Andrea |

I shall pray for your wife and Jack and Addison.
What is your wife's name? I can't even imagine laying in bed that much. |

We have a friend of the family that spent 18 weeks in bed like this for her 1st baby, 4 of the wks were in hospital...... baby and mom are fine today!
Hang in there!!!!!!! And a tip for the men.... don't offer to match the bed-time with couch time and football.... you might get a knuckle sandwhich :) |

Best wishes to all of you during this challenging and worrisome time. When I worked in OB, complete bed rest was not uncommon for women carrying twins (or more!) My daughter is in 6th grade with two lovely girls whose mom was on complete bed rest for the last few months of pregnancy, as well.
Sending positive thoughts your way. |

Matt
My heart and prayers go out to you. You are going to need to keep your wife thinking on positive things. Too much stress and worry is very damaging. Prayers sent!

Keep her comfortable Matt. Give her one of those little things to Jingle when shes needs something. Treat her like a queen, keep her rested, and happy and catered, anything she wants, give it to her, rub her feet, talk to her belly, the kids may get a kick out of it. And if you need to get some help for the next few weeks find someone to help, it'll be worth it. Things will be fine, my thoughts and prayers are with both of you, your wife is beautiful, and those cute 2 babies your going to have will be the absolute joy in your life.
This really puts things in perspective for everyone, Doctors like to be cautious, and for a good reason. 16 weeks and we get pictures !! Hot damn, can't wait ! !
