The one that got away...

that is, almost got away...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ROLEX-EXPLORER-I...QQcmdZViewItem

Could this be real? Seems like these typically go for big bucks. The seller re-listing the exact same thing almost immediately is a bit suspect (check out his other items for sale).

Yep, the guy's selling the exact same thing again. Do guys think he has two of them?

But in any case, that's a pretty watch!

Very much a fake , but at least the seller has the decency to say as much in his description.

Yeah the description is very confusing and misleading IMO. What I get out of it is that it is not an all original 1655... parts from 16750 etc etc. He is saying all the parts are original ROLEX parts but not all 1655 parts.

It´s a waste to use a 16750 case because they will soon go for $4500.

It´s better to get a 1675 and change dial, hands and the bezel. But it will be a franken
not worth $4500 in my book.

Watch is a total fake.

It is common for fakers to use GMT cases to fake 1655. Now the fakers are using 16750 cases instead of the 1675 ones because the 1675 are getting too collectable, hence expensive.
