Gen or aftermarket 16760 bezel? Need your expertise!
Hi,
I bought a used 16760 from a swedish collector. He stated that the watch was nearly NOS and had all original parts and he'd give a refund if something is not genuine Rolex. I got the watch and I really like it... very beautiful. BUT: I found out that the insert was not from a 16760 but the later 16710... that wouldn't be so bad... but the bezel teeth look really strange too. I am afraid it might be an aftermarket bezel. If it is, I'll have to return it, I guess. It is a 9,6 mil serial from 1986. Were there any different bezels at that time? Here a picture of my watch compared to another 16760. mine is the bottom one. here are more pictures of the watch: http://s1089.photobucket.com/albums/...watches/16760/ Thanks in advance for your help, guys! |

Hard to tell, but the troughs or dips or valleys whatever you wanna call em, on the bezel look polished when they're not supposed to be, especially if its NOS. I'm thinking you have a Sub Bezel on your GMT. I've seen it done before. But I'm not sure. I have to make some comparisons before I can reply with a solid answer. Some guys here are bezel experts, maybe they'll chime in since the weekend is coming.

got a link to this watch...
http://www.network54.com/Forum/54035...osted+by+Orchi looks pretty much the same... either they used these bezels on the 9mil series or it's indeed unpolished and polishing makes the cut outs bigger... |
