A week with my (short) Rubber B Strap
I was on the wait list for the short version of the Rubber B strap for a few months and it finally arrived last Friday (10/14). I’ve had it on my wrist for the past week and let me just start by saying that it is a fantastic strap! If Rolex ever wanted to sell their watches with a rubber strap, then they should use this one.
As can be seen in the photos below the watch fits my LV Submariner perfectly at the lugs and it looks like it is OEM. I love how the curved ends fit so well against the Sub’s case and how the strap itself curves away from the case at the exact same angle as the lugs. While I have a set custom endlinks from Eugene and a custom made strap from Koon which are great (see my previous posts), they don’t compare with the Rubber B strap. For me, one of the great advantages of the Rubber B strap is that I can actually use the Rolex deployant and, having purchased the short version of the strap, I can have it centered on my wrist. Again, as you can see in the photos below it looks OEM with the deployant. As far as how the strap feels on the wrist the Rubber B is perfect – it is beefy enough to be rugged and match my Sub and supple enough to be extremely comfortable. Now I have pretty small wrists (6.5”) so I had to order the short version of the strap but even after cutting it I still have an extra 0.75” of spare room in case all the beer catches up with me. I’ve heard others complain that the Rubber B strap is a bit pricey but in my opinion it is worth every penny. Cheers, Jonathan. |

Great to hear a positive on the RubberB strap...I'm thinking of one myself!!!
I can't help but wonder however, why have you got the buckle upside down??? Or is it an inverted pic?

I don't like it, I love it !
Considering what our Subs are worth the price is reasonable imo. How did you find changing the clasp ? Would a 7" wrist require the short version ? Xmas is around the corner, Pardon the questions, but being a two watches only guy, straps excite me. |

Changing the clasp is very easy ...
Quote:
I had no problem changing the clasp or putting the strap on my Sub. Cutting the strap was not difficult either - I used a 6" metal ruler and a razor blade. My only suggestion when cutting the strap is not to "slice" the rubber but to just apply vertical pressure on it. Also, for a 7” wrist I would recommend getting the “short” strap but you might want to talk to the people at Rubber B and see what they say. Cheers, Jonathan. |

Very very nice. The one thing that worried me a bit on these straps is the hassle of constantly changing clasps from bracelet to rubber (unless you had a spare clasp).
Also, how do you order the "short" version? I was just looking at their website and it was not shown in the products with this in the FAQ: Does the RUBBER B Strap come in different sizes? No. Our straps have been strategically manufactured to be a universal fit (please check the product page for your particular model to see which size range works with it). You will customize the fit/length of your new RUBBER B strap by using the length of your existing original Rolex bracelet/strap as guidelines. Attention: Be careful not to shorten your new RUBBER B strap too much, as we will not be able to except it for return/exchange once it has been modified. |

Love it
I got a blue one for my GMT Pepsi last week (I'm a 7 1/4 inch wrist). I agree with JRBar- AMAZING!! Worth every penny. They explained to me that the new strap (shorter fixed piece) now replaces the old one automatically because it fits a larger range of sizes, so I didn't have to request any particular size, because my number fell in the range shown on their site. I really love the combo of JRBbar's LV pictured above…. its too beautiful in that pic on the black Rubber B :) The green bezel and the black dial with the black rubber… aaaahhh…

Would you say that the Rubber strap is more comfortable than the regular Oyster band ? |
