A dry erase marker, a dry-wall saw, and a bit of patience. The neighbors kids loved them. I lit them up with 20W/12V landscape up-light underneath each for affect.

Yea, I printed out the stencils on regular paper then tried to recreate them as best I could. The Dry-erase markers are the key, they just wipe off when you mess up, and the dry-wall handsaw makes quick work of a pumpkin.
