AD's Can Be So Funny
Called one yesterday and she told me she had a 372 but sold it. Hmmmm.....that's interesting I said, they're not even out yet. Oh the things they'll say.
C'mon Panerai, let's get this thing out already!!!!!

Haha...it's always sad to see that some of us know more about what's going on than what some AD's know. And always a treat to meet one who knows what they are talking about. But honestly Panerai boutiques always hire top notch sales reps who most often know a ton about their products.

Yup. Spoken with far too many that knew far less than me. I guess you can take that mantra and apply it to any facet in life though..

Shocked? I'm not. I'm actually preferring to buy from other grey's to avoid the hassle of dealing with a dim-witted AD.

Dim-witted is one thing, outright lying is another....

I can not stand the AD's that no nothing about what they sell, I have seen a lot of them that ware watches that the store owns (mostly don't even own a watch).
The guy I deal with now has his own colection and is a real W.I.S., If he is not in I, come back when he is. He also does not claim to know it all. |

I'm only teasing, I've switched loyalties simply due to annoyance with a comment an AD made about the watch I was wearing at the time - he had the cheek to start critiquing my DSSD while I was reviewing an IWC Aquatimer he was trying to sell me. Simple solution, I bought the Aquatimer.....somewhere else. |

The local AD here in Montreal is a powerhouse in the watch trading community. Completely and totally ignorant of not just Panerai, but pretty much everytyhing except Rolex. I don't even bother asking questions any more.
They had one salesman who came from France. A young kid. He knew his stuff through and through. He told me that he worked in a fancy watch store in Paris, and all of the salesman were required to be "au current" on all of the models. Only way they could keep their jobs! Too bad he got fired. He got caught stealing. Deported. |
