Icon20 Frankenwatch or real deal?

Hi everyone, i have a datejust which is marked 16253. Im finding that when i use oysterworlds reference codes it says its a turnograph. Im new to rolex and would love any help with this matter!

If it helps it has a two tone jub bracelet marked 455B and the clasp is marked OP10. I dont know if this watch has been made of copy parts due to the conflict of ref numbers. It has a 3035 cal aswell. Thanks for reading :-)

I dont think so as it has a knurled bezel and says oyster perpetual datejust on the dial.
The dial is blue and has 10 diamonds as markers with the date at 3 !

But im not familiar with the turnograph, what are they?

Well that what a Turnograph is a TT Datejust with a rotating bezel thats the only difference the bezel.

Im still getting aquainted with this forum and have no camera!
However i found one very similar at http://www.melrosejewelers.com/datej...-bl-fl-222.htm

I must correct myself though as mine has a smooth bezel. And the only other difference from the pic on that link is mine just has "swiss" at 6 and not swiss made!

Thank you so much for taking the time to help!

Your watch should look like one in the picture if it a TOG its from around 1977-88 with the cal 3035 from 1988 on they used the cal 3135

No my date just is almost exactly the same as the one in the link i posted (scroll up) but it has a smooth bezel!
Did they produce these with the 16253 ref no ?
Or has this been made from old watches!

Yes they did produce in plain smooth and diamond bezel but you stated a TOG. Like I said a TOG is just a plain DJ with a rotating bezel if it does not rotate its just a DJ..

No at the start i was asking why is it that everytime i enter the reference number from the case i get results for a TOG. Im worried that it does not have the original case!
But it has been good learning about TOG's anyway. Im always up for learning :-) and thank you for expanding my knowledge!

... Maybe because the internets are an imperfect reference source? Looks like you have a TT DJ, and a pretty nice one.

I believe that your watch when it left the factory had the TOG bezel and was replaced with a smooth bezel at some point in its life (perhaps the bezel was damaged)... You have nothing to worry about since the TOG is just a Datejust with rotating bezel as stated above... Enjoy your watch and stop worrying!!!
