Can dealer order SS daytonas for you?
I am just extremely puzzled, every salesman tells me that there is a 2 year waiting list for SS Daytona, even told me some store only sells to their best customers. But at the end they tell me they can order any color dial on the 2 tone Daytona. so if they can order 2 tone daytona why can't they order SS daytona? Any help in this topic can really help, because every dealer i go to pushes me to get 2 tone but I want SS

They are allocation watches and dealers get allotment vs. ordering.

Depending on where you live you might be able to find them in a store. However I have yet to see a new one on display so you would have to ask and you might be able to find an AD willing to sell one to you. It would probably be easier to get one from a trusted seller.

As I stated above--no you can't order. It is an allocation watch that Rolex allocate to dealers. Can you get one from a trusted seller--yes. Can you get one with a credit card--from a few.

Welcome to the forum! However IMHO, if you have to buy a Daytona on credit (meaning pay for the difference on credit and not as a buying convenience) then I would recommend you save a little longer. You'll likely also get more money for your current watch if you sell it yourself rather than exchange it with a dealer. They'll have to clean it up and mark up to sell it so you can expect much less than current market value. So saving and selling yourself then buying from one of the great dealers here will maximize your discount and increase your enjoyment of a great piece. It's only a watch and not worth creating any financial strain. Again JMHO.

2 year list is less than most. They usually quote 7 year waiting lists! Certainly in the UK.

TT Daytona's are more available from Rolex then the SS version. When dealers get their allocation of the SS version they in most cases offer to their best customers. With limited allocation and higher demand for the SS version, this makes it harder to get. I believe AD's can order, whether Rolex ships to them is another story.
If you are looking for a SS version you are better off sourcing from one of the trusted sellers here on the forum. Quote:

There is significantly less demand for the TT and the availability is much higher than SS ... hence why they are trying to convince you to buy one.

Availability all depends on where you live and your relationship with your AD. I seem to never have a problem sourcing a SS Daytona when I have wanted one. Actually have passed on a few over the years when offered to me from my different AD's that I have great relationships with.

maybe you can call around at AD's in states around you and find one but if you are placing a large amount on credit I wouldn't advise that. watches are not worth going into debt over especially with the high interest rates most have these days. AD's can order watches but certain models they are allocated monthly. Never pay in advance, they might keep you waiting for months and months.

that's not what i meant, what i meant was the biggest part of paying for it would be the trade in, I have roughly 8k saved up for the rest though i'd be paying up with credit card i'll pay off the same month

No need to explain yourself, or your finances, to a bunch of strangers. Not even sure why that came up. Good luck in your search!

Good approach then but I still recommend you try selling yourself first. No time like the present to establish yourself.

Did you already get an estimate for your watch? You should be able to get a lot more by selling it on here. It's not too hard to find a SS in a small city.
