And I have noticed my battery time has really decreased after installing 5 I hope this puts it back to where it was prior...

What kind of notification did you get? I didn't get one, but knew to install the update anyways because I read it on an iPhone forum.

It was a pop up .... Like for news alerts... Maybe you need to check in settings to see if you are allowing push notifications... I do not remember if it asked me when I installed 5...

I've also had some issues with the connection with my Micro Cell and WiFi .... Sometimes they just drop out... If I go into settings they reconnect without any other action..

Thanks for letting us know ... my iphone 4 has been kinda flaky after the os 5 upgrade ... battery life definitely took a hit and speed varies ... sometimes it goes fast, sometimes it goes very slow (e.g. a 5 to 10 seconds black screen when I open the music player) ... We'll see how it goes with the new fix.

for those who jailbreak... be careful, because the potential exploit might be closed in 5.0.1

Could be because I'm in China now and my phone and iPad 2 is from the USA. Any thoughts on this?

You should have iOS 5 (not iOS 5.0.1) to be able to use the over the air functionality. If you have still a version like 4.XXX installed, than it would be necessary to update with iTunes to version 5 first, before you can use the "over the air" functionality. Regards, Alexander |

thanks for the head up - all done "over the air" now for the iPhone and iPad.
(initially hooked into iTunes, but it was taken a while. both devices over the air was about 5 mins all up). General - Software Update |

Alex, Thanks so much for your information. I have the 4.3.3 version. I may have to wait until I return back to the states to upgrade.

I couldn't notice a difference in battery life yesterday but my phone has been of the charger this morning for almost an hour and its down 1% compared to 8% on a typical morning with 5.
I hope this fix is it. I've been limiting my use to extend battery life |

Just completed it over wifi. It took less than 20 minutes without a hitch.
BONUS: it did not wipe out my camera roll this time around (as it happened with the OS 5 upgrade) !! Thanks again for the heads up Alexander!

Installed last night. I didn't really notice any battery issues before and I hope it doesn't get any worse with this new update.

I went through with the update and it was relatively quick. However wifi sync did not work immediately until after the Mac is restarted. Other than that, everything as expected.
