My old beater
Just a few gratuitous shots of my circa 1865 English pocket watch. Chain fusee movement, 18k, key wind & key set.
This pic isn't mine, but the movement is similar (my lack of photography skills is well known here ). Pretty cool how the mainspring drives the tapered fusee to compensate for loss of tension as it unwinds.

Thank you. I wind it a turn or two occasionally, but very rarely set the time. The movement is relatively stiff to move and I'm afraid of the setting key slipping and gouging the dial.

This one's pretty cool, too. An 1890 New York Watch Co. in a Philadelphia case, stem wound & lever set, and still has the original caseback sticker attached. Let's see you keep a Rolex hologram on for that long!
