So new Daytonas are expensive....and Rolex proves us wrong!

While making a quick -much needed- stop @ AD, I found this on their display

New RG Daytonas/Ceramic: FULL retail. Zero discount. Now the odd part: I visited 3 days in a row and, yes, you guessed it; RG Daytonas stand for a few HOURS only on display! They are selling like peanuts!

This is very interesting, but can you give us a hint as to where this AD is located?

It's good to know that Rolex sales are brisk, but are you in the US or Hong Kong or Kuwait?

Ditto. I like the looks, but I can not understand (nor will spend) a premium of over 9k for the bezel!

It is, but the overprice is way TOO much (at least for me)

US. So there goes the 'slow economy'

Slow economy does not really impact the high end - luxury market. From what I've been reading, stats are higher than ever.

This from the Miami Herald (Taken from a post this morning about a Panerai store opening at the Bal Harbor Mall in Miami):

"As the luxury market continues to rebound, the mall’s sales are on track to hit what is expected to be a national record in 2011 of $2,277 in sales per square foot. Bal Harbour same store sales are up this year 26 percent compared to the same period last year.
“Invariably it will be our best year of all time,” Lazenby said. “Some tenants are up as much as 100 percent.”

The 116515 doesn't look like much in pics but it is awsome in the flesh. Handled one with ivory dial today at an AD. It has jumped to #1 on my want list.

Looks like the Wynn in Vegas to me.

Travel a bit further and to the right are the Pateks, JLCs, and a couple others............................................ ................

Such a great place to window shop.

I am on vacation in San Franciso and just went by an AD, they had the new daytona. I tried it on and it looked great, then looked at the price 27k and reality set it. In any case, the AD said they had just sold another one just like it in the morning. This AD had a great selection, I thought there was a shortage. Obviously not in San Francisco. I know, I should have taken a pic. Sorry guys...

That is just an unbelievable price (although the people buying it seems to think otherwise ) At that price a pre-owned YG GMT IIc or a YG DD would be much more fitting with leftover change

Geez those pictures are very nice! I guess you guys will have to wait until the new Daytonas' sales go down before you can get a discount on them...this is quite strange tho, I always read about people getting good prices at AD's...

Awesome photos, thanks for sharing. Really like the Daytonas and will certainly consider adding to my collection.
