Icon6 Just picked up an IWC 3717-02 Spitfire Chrono

Well, thanks to a friend, I am going to be the new owner of an IWC 3717-02 Spitfire Chrono-Automatic.

I contacted the seller via e-mail, and he informed me the watch is BRAND NEW, never worn/tried on, boxes, papers, warranty.

I created the thread of (on another forum) "Anyone in Brooklyn." This is where the watch is located. Steve (a member I don't even know) and I exchanged a few PMs, and ended up with Steve requesting the seller to give him a call.

I called and left a message for the seller, as well as sending an e-mail. The seller called back within 20 minutes, and I gave him Steves number. Steve then sent me a PM 1 minute later telling me he was meeting up with the seller in 30 minutes.
  • What a guy! I offered compensation for his time, but he politely declined.
Anyway, I received a PM from Steve informing me that everything is legit, and he took a few pictures as well.

The seller is selling as a LOCAL PICK-UP, so me and Steve began talking, and I will be wiring Steve the money for the watch+shipping/insurance and he'll get the watch sent out to me next week on his day off!

Here are some pictures Steve snapped...

That's a real beauty, Jimbo. Enjoy that baby when you get it. Make sure you get some wrist shots.

Congratulations.

Thanks guys! It was between this or a Z-dated Rolex Sub...

I think I made the right decision for right now. But I actually am looking to get a Panerai and the Rolex Sub I passed up.

I couldn't pass up on this deal, the 2 year warranty is only 3 months in. And the watch has never been worn, tried on, etc. And the asking price was almost 40% off MSRP!

You can't go wrong with that deal.

Very nice! Getting a Rolex and a Panerai, along side your IWC, would make an outstanding diversified collection! IWC makes some great watches, and they have hands down, the best Watch Company Catalog out there!

I couldn’t believe my eyes when their catalogue fell into my mailbox two days ago. It's a beautiful bookwork.

Nice! What a deal. The band looks great on this watch and I'm not usually that into the leather bands. Now if only you could find a Sub w/ 40% off MSRP.
