2nd Time Zone
Hi,
I have been running through in my head, but can't see an answer (although I am sure there is an obvious answer). The regular hour hand, and the 24 hour hand can both be adjusted independently of all other hands. Usually, the hour hand is follows the minute hand, so it is always correctly placed in its journey between two hours, and it corresponds with the position of minute hand (so, for example, it is half way between two hours at 30 minutes through the hour). How do you line up the hour hand(s) independently when setting them at anything other than on the hour? I imagine it would be easy to end up with the minute and hour hands out of sync.... Thanks

The hour hand on my GMTIIc moves forward and back at the right point based on the minute hand. So if the minute hand is 20 past the hour, the hour hand always moves forward and back in one hour jumps in line with the 20 past position.

Simple on a Rolex but I did have a Blancpain Day/night and this didn't have the hour hand coordination and you had to actually position the hour hand in line to where you thought it should be based on the minute hand.
Inevitably, it was never quite possible to do it accurately and I then had to adjust the hour hand on the hour separately. Needless to say, this watch lasted less than a week and was sent back for a refund....... |
