I never thought Chronoswiss was in the same league as JLC. Maybe my ignorance is showing; however, a $42K MSRP selling for $9K is an indication that I may be on to something.

Looks wise the JLC is modern and eloquent, as opposed to the retro look of the Chronoswiss. Definitely personal preference, but I'm lov'en the JLC.

Also from a service standpoint you can use RGM along with JLC. I really like Roland Murphy so that is a big plus.

Agree.

However, since you ask, the JLC without a doubt.

The Chronoswiss has a weird month sub-dial, as has been noted already. They should have left it as a 12 month sub-dial and not tried to cram in 12 months four times.

But worse, look how close the calendar sub-dials are - all crammed into the middle of the dial. They need to be moved out a bit, although my guess is the perpetual calendar module is quite small relative to the case size, even though I think the case is "only" 40mm in diameter.

The JLC. I don't like anything at all about Chronoswiss watches.

In general I prefer JLC over Chronoswiss, but in this case prefer the looks of the CS.

However I will say that the month sub-dial bothers me. It seems odd they would repeat the months four times at the expense of not having each month labelled.

Neither. I'd save up and get a Patek 5146J.

I like your thinking, though I am slightly biased, and would add the 5205 to the lis

Though out of the choices on offer, obviously the PC is traditionally a more complicated movement then any other calendar function.

But in this case, I would, without, a shadow of a doubt go with the JLC

Having had to deal with Chronoswiss' reliability issues on their more complex models, I'd take the JLC every day of the week
