RolexRolexRolex on inside ring!!!!
Seems I see some forum members now and then post that they are not too thrilled about the new models coming out, as they all have Rolex Rolex Rolex around the Chapter inside ring of the dial.
I though that I would not like it also. But, now after having have owned two Rolex (a Datejust that I flipped and currently a TT GMT II), I have to say that you hardly notice it. For some reason it stands out on the photos, but in the flesh it is actually hard to see. I like it. And the Crown at 12 and the Serial number at 6 is a nice addition. No more have to take off the bracelet to see the serial number. |

To each his own, and yes I agree that it is not very noticeable when seen irl.
But IMHO the inner chapter inscription is a superflous piece of that reminds me of Breitling.

And "Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified" plastered all over the dial isn't? Personally, I like the cleaner look of something like the 14060 Sub or even better, this early OysterQuartz. Oh well, different folks, different strokes.

Sorry for posting this silly pic AGAIN, but it shows (of course in an exaggerated way!) how Rolex COULD look like in some years if Rolex KEEPS "over-branding" their watches in this low-class manner that is more typical of Omegas and Breitlings ROLEX DOESN'T BLO***Y NEED THIS! Sorry for the rant, but I am a very conservative guy when it comes to alterations to Rolex. Anyway, here is the pic:

Well, the pic's not one I made. And I have posted it here many times before, but it sure does tell the story about recent OVER-branding of Rolex, doesn't it??

what's wrong with having rolex all around the chapter ring? I like it clear on my Seadweller but the rolex rolex rolex all around the chapter ring is just attention to detail IMO.
But I might be gettin a TT blue sub soon and it would be a plus if it'll have the rolex all around the chapter ring. Do you guys think it would? |

I had my reservations regarding the Rolex inscription on the reflection ring.True,it stands out much more on the pics.I studied the Daytona for a while before I even saw it ...
Rolex on the inscription ring is debateable,BUT the serial nr on the ring is a must.Thats a good move. |

It's on my Z series SS Daytona. I don't mind it at all. Very subtle.

Important things to do:
#1. Cure cancer #2. End world famine #3. Better pay for teachers #4. Reduce violent crime #5. Eliminate child abuse . . . . #82734. Worry about the chapter ring on my Rolex Edited to add: It's not a branding issue, it's a security/anti-forgery measure. Last edited by advocatia; 18 August 2007 at 12:54 AM.. |

Nothing wrong with the Rolex inscription around the chapter ring. It's very subtle and you hardly notice it until you actually go looking for it.

The Crown etched in the Crystal is at 6 Oclock. The engraved crown in the inner dial ring is at 12 O Clock.
I think Rolex is starting to put the Rolex Rolex Rolex on all their models, even the older styles, that are being produced. The newer 14060m with the COSC rating on the dial also has the engraved chapter ring. Yeah, I really like the engraved chapter ring and maxi dial of the new models! (note: not my photo) |

"Und das ist OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED alles klar?"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: lol:
Seriously, I feel the Chapter Ring inscriptions are unecessary, but I suppose I don't mind them because they're harder to see in person. The photos make them look horrible!

I agree Chad. I think the photos of it are "overkill". The real watch you hardly notice it.

No magnification needed, the serial number is VERY EASY to read... unless someone puts a black box over it.

I like it. I looked at two Z model Daytonas. One with the chapter ring engraved, the other without. Otherwise identical. I chose the engraved version.

#1. Cure cancer
#2. End world famine #3. Better pay for law enforcement and teachers #4. Reduce violent crime #5. Eliminate child abuse Having many friends who are police officers #3 could read better pay for law enforcement so that #4 can come to pass. Police pay is so bad that police departments all over the U.S. can not fill the retirement slots. Teachers tend to want more and more. Teacher’s salaries have doubled when compared to law enforcement. Lets face it both groups need better pay. |

It would probably be nicer if just ALL professions got better pay instead...then probably that can contribute to less famine eventually.

20 yo GMT II
What time is it? 10 past 12 Brand new green hand GMT with Rolex Rolex Rolex around the chapter ring What time is it? 10 past 12 I tend to only look and really look at my watch when I don't need to know what time it is. And then I notice the other stuff. In the mean time, the watch tells the time really well. And its a Rolex because that's what I want on my wrist.... PS If I wanted to cure cancer then I think I would've gone into medicine instead of mining. But that's me, BUT, I salute the folk that teach and cure and save and keep us safe, because I can't and couldn't. |

I actually think Teachers have it pretty good compared to Police Officers.
My Father retired as a Public High School Teacher 9 years ago. He was making $60,000 a year (9 years ago back when gas was ony $1 a gallon), had 2 weeks off for Christmas, 1 week off for Spring Break, Every weekend off, and had 2.5 months for the summer. Starting pay for new teachers is currently around $40,000 at his School Corporation, which in Indiana is pretty good pay with all that time off. I have actually considered going back into teaching myself, either as a Elementary Education Teacher at a private school is the USA, or teaching English in Asia. I think Teaching is a very honorable career and a good career. Police Officers in the same town as mentioned above start out at around $39,000. Work long hours, face daily risk, political BS, PD are getting more and more PC, see bad accidents and human suffering, deal with the scum of society, forced to do mandatory overtime, work weird shifts many times which take away weekends and evenings from their families. |

Miner, We salute you as well for the hard job you have a Miner (as recent news has showed us what a risky profession you have). You have a vital job providing us with resources for our work and recreational pursuits.
But, I still can not figure out why you have a GMT II instead of an Explorer II (especially the original orange hand Exp II), Since you basically go Caving for a living!!!!!!!!! LOL |
