Opinions please....
I am looking at a used YG Daytona Paul Newman Dial. It is an 07 in good condition, newer clasp, but no engraved rehaut for $22,000
or buy a new one, if I can get 20% and no tax for $25,600 What do you think is the smarter buy? what would you do? Is it worth it to save the $3,600 EDIT: HAS ANYONE HEARD OF VIPTIMEKEEPER.COM Safe? |

Grey dealer is $28 000 , AD $53 000, back to the topic , i think you should get a new one, the difference is nothing

Personally, I don't like the engraved rehaut. An obvious case of over branding that does nothing to improve the design.

I think you can do better than 20% off, minimizing the difference. I would go new. Once you get to that price level, a $2k price difference new to used isn't a big enough spread for me to go used.

I'm one of those oddballs that'd pay extra for the lack of the rehaut.

Grey or AD?
If grey I would think you could do better than 20% for sure. Or are you working with a local AD? At $3600 I might go used. But I really think you can get it down to $24k for a $2k difference.

Well the AD that sold it to the grey dealer paid $19.2k (or less if he bought it before the last price increase, depends how long the AD was sitting on it before he moved it to the grey dealer). So the grey dealer paid something between that and the $25k he's offering it to you for. That doesn't help much but does narrow it some. I reiterate that I believe you could get a better price from an AD. Particularly if you find one that's been sitting on the watch since before the last price increase.

Excellent move on buying brand new.Congrats. In my opinion, one should never look at how much you are saving on the whole, but look at it as a percentage, $3600 is $3600 but how much percent of the whole price more is it? NOT MUCH! not worth saving the extra $$$ and get it preowned. The opportunity cost just isnt good enough!
