Icon7 The OP Date 34mm vs the Datejust 31mm???

I currently have the 31mm SS Datejust, but I'm thinking that I may prefer a slightly larger [and heavier] watch. I don't have large wrists and am fairly slim so Ik now that anything over 34mm would look too big, but I haven't actually seen the 34mm in anything other than stand alone pictures. Does anyone have any wrist shots? Also what's the difference between the Oyster Perpetual Date and the Datejust?? Do they have different movements and is one better than the other? AND [sorry for all the questions] what are the prices at the moment for both watches - I'd be looking for an AD that also sells pre-owned so that I could trade in. Thanks in advance. S x

Basically it is the size, 2mm difference. Date is 34mm and DJ is 36mm. Unless they are side by side, they wear and feel basically the same. I believe movements are the same, but I could be wrong. DJ is more expensive and has more options available. Both are great timepieces.

For size comparison ... My wife's collection.. And she has a small wrist .. She tried on 36 mm but the lugs stick out with the bracelet snug

34mm Airking

31mm Datejust

26mm Datejust

I have small wrists(6 and one quarter inches and am 5'5" and 120lbs.)and wear a GMT which is 40mm. I would suggest trying them on a long with the Subs as I think they would look good on your wrist. But if you go smaller get the 36mm DateJust it's a great watch. Or you could consider the Explorer I which is 36mm or the AirKing.....if you do not need the date function!!!

Oh wow, thanks so much. The photos in particular are really useful. I'm going to go to Watches of Switzerland [I'm in London] and ask to have a look at both options. And to see what they say about trading in/ up.

Hi, I hope Lisa shows up with pics of her 34mm Date that she sold. It's a really nice size. The Date only comes with the Oyster bracelet and has more limited dial options, compared to the DJ.

I bought a 31mm and second guessed it and thought I should've gone for the 34mm Date, but for me this is a great choice after all because it's so versatile. Have fun looking!

Oh, I didn't realise that about the bracelet. Can you get a Jubilee to fit separately? I like both bracelet's but on the plain bezel v plain dial steel watches I quite like the way a jubilee jazzes things up a little.

Just my opinion...
I like the Machined Bezel with the Oyster
The Polished center links with the Domed bezel
The Jubilee with the Fluted bezel

Yes, both movement are the same 3135.

The OP Date is probably the best value in the Rolex lineup.
