Confused about my First Rolex
Hello Everyone,
I bought the 116610LN Sub-C a few days ago and I was and still am in love with in- somewhat. I was viewing some cool threads here and I saw the pictures of the LV version (Green dial and BEzel) and it made me feel confused. Should I have bought the otherone? ( I ask myself). What do you guys think, does this happen to anyone? the confusion ( I would not call it regret as I always wanted the ROLEX). Please help, Because I can still return my watch to the AD?! Thanks! |

Being your first Rolex, I would say that black is the right decision

Relax and enjoy your watch.
There'll be opportunities later on to expand your collection.

One is black, one is green. The green one (LV) is about $500 more MSRP. Otherwise the watches are identical.
I believe a lot more LNs are sold than LVs, but the LV owners here (as well as the LN owners) love their watches. Its entirely a matter of personal taste. |

Enjoy your watch!! I do have to admit though I love my LV's!! Old and new...Nothing wrong with multiple Subs in a collection. Congrats on a great watch and wear it in good health!

black is the way to go , you can wear it with everything. I have a blue face datjust and seems like i do not wear it as much as I shopuld because I only wear it when I am wearing something with blue in it.. I wear my B&M Capeland S more only because it is black face.. I am in the process of saving up for a 116610 and need about $2500 more .. I was close to getting a M serial # 16610 but after trying it on it just felt "cheap" because the hollow links.. So I passed to save a few more grand and get the watch you just got!

If it were my first Rolex, I would certainly buy the black. It is such a well-loved watch icon. As mentioned above, you can also wear it with anything. Careful, though, because you're probably going to learn that one Rolex is not enough.
Great choice and welcome to TRF. |

I went through the LN vs. LV dilemma. I chose the LV... The main reason?? I tried a GMTII-C (which, of course, is black). So, now, I placed the GMTII-C on my "list" and went with the LV.

I went for the LV. Love them both, but I'm looking to add a DSSD, so that will take care of having one in black!

The green is an acquired taste but the black is classic! Buy the green and sell the one you like best!

Welcome to the Forum and you have yourself one heck of a great watch. The choice(s) is up to you especially if you are only planning on one watch. There is nothing wrong with exchanging your watch for the other one. Or you can plan to save up and buy the other one later. Of course if you hang around here you will probably end up with many watches...

The green is AMAZING; however, getting the black is a great choice because you'll be able to more easily wear it anytime. The green LV will male a superb second watch!

You made a great decision, I agree with everyone else on the fact that it is better to have black for your first watch. I personally also liked the LV, but couldnt imagine wearing it everyday, dont know why. So i got the LN :D

I think this is why a few members on this forum have more than one Rolex. I think you made a great choice for your first one.

The one you have is perfect for your first or only Rolex.
In a side by side if you like the green better I'm sure you could work that out. I have both and the green seems more spectacular but not for everybody! |

I think that you made the perfect choice for the first rolex. Now you can have fun thinking about your next one. Maybe the LV is in the cards, maybe not, but the one you have will never go out of style.

The green is much more limited. Nice to have if you have more than one (watch).
You did well. |

Yeah if I look at pictures of subs, I want one. If I look at Daytona's I want one. If I look at GMT's I think maybe I should of got that one.
This is what this forum does to you. I say you made the right choice, enjoy it. |

I would keep your black SubC. I have the Black GMTIIC, as a first Rolex. Black goes with everything... That being said if I was fronted with the decision before I made my first Rolex purchase, I would have chosen a black version of something like I did. So being able to choose my second I went for the SubC LV(ALL GREEN). I would never have chosen the LV as a first. So I say stay with the black.
Your going to need something else to look forward to in the future. SO stay with your Black SubC its a great watch! |

The green is not identicle to the black. Face is made of metallic green gold. The green changes colors depending on the way the sun or light hits it. It actually looks black sometimes....
In any case, if you love green get green. If not, go with a neutral black. |

Your choice, but black is probably safer and more versatile for your first / only watch.....
