New Sub
I'm looking to purchase my first Rolex, a new Sub. I called a local Rolex dealer and they said they pretty much have all the Rolex' in stock except the Sub. Said its on "backorder." :( Not sure if this is usual but is this the norm out there? I'd like to deal with this store, not sure how many of you purchase a Rolex online or if it can even be done. Was just wondering if they are out of Sub because its so popular, are they changing the watch anytime soon and just letting what they have run out? Thanks for your help. Excellent site.

It happens, did they say how long it would take to get one in? If you dead set on waiting to get one from them I can assure you the wait will be worth it.
If your not willing to wait there are always other ADs, or you could buy one from one of the trusted sellers on this forum.

New Sub
Who is a "trusted seller" on this forum? I'd explore that perhaps.

While the AD you visited didn't have one, Subs are not in short supply. You are withn easy reach of quite a few ADs or you can find one right here, right now, in the For Sale section.

There are no Subs in my area either. I was also travelling last week and Amsterdam seemed to be out of them as well.

If you go AD, try Lee Perla in Hackensack. Just saw a 14060M and a 116610LN there last Friday.

Here too. Got my 116610LV there, but not sure if I saw the LN there.

It is normal; it takes a while for Rolex to refill the supply chain after Christmas.
Subs are not hard to find, but in general the ones for sale now arrived at ADs last fall or earlier. |

Back in November, my AD told me that there would be a shortage of SS Subs and that this word had come down from Rolex USA.
I was told this by the owner, who is a stand-up guy. When I ordered my 14060M on the same date, it took a full month for it to come in. I suspect that the popularity of the Sub combined with the Christmas season may have put a squeeze on the supply chain.

Maybe the absence of SUBs on the market now is due to recent Christmas. When I bought my ceramic SUB LN a week before the Christmas I grabbed the last piece of that kind in my AD. Yes, they had Sub no date and SUB cer. LV. The black is apparently more in demand.
I wish you good luck in the hunt! |

If you are looking for another AD to try in New Jersey, I can highly recommend Leonardo Jewelers in Red Bank. Speak to Paul, he is a great guy and you will definitely enjoy the customer service. You can call him at 732-747-7880. Hope this helps.
