Cant believe I am going to do this

Hi. I recently saw a White Gold Submariner and fell in love. I am so tempted to go for it but at £22,500 I will need to sell a few Omegas to do it. Am I doing the right thing? I know little about this watch and its movement so your thoughts and advise are very welcome.

Not really a fan, but I would prefer to have a few great pieces instead of alot of "nice" pieces. So go for it

I would do it if I had the money for "how it felt" more than "how it looked".
I imagine that much gold must feel way different...

Is it warm or cool? Anyone?

That's my grail

If you can pull it off, I would do it. The blue bezel and dial are just so nice and a great change from black on black

Go for it.

If I were to buy a gold Sub the white gold would be the one.

It's a very hefty and impressive beast.

One went for a tad under £15k a month or so ago.

I wouldn't bite at £22.5k if I were you.

Great watch, but I can't justify the price difference between the SS model and WG model. The price difference just does not make sense as the value of the gold content does not make up for the price difference. If I end up buying one at some point in the future it will definitely need to be at a significantly redued price from even todays grey market prices. This is why I don't even bother looking.

I agree completely for most of us...but I think that purchase is the classic...

Hi Yes, I am getting a good discount down to £18,000 and would need to act before the price rise which is just a round the corner (I imagine).

i would go for it - it is "the ultimate expensive" ceramic Sub
if you look around, there will be a few going around at less than MSRP

If it's what you really want then go for it Alan. It's one heck of a nice looking watch.

My goodness, yes. Owning a gold Rolex is fantastic and the pleasure of this watch will far out weigh the 'pain' of selling your other watches. I just got done at the AD and saw the blue-faced Sub in-person for the first time - that dial is arresting. The only trouble with this watch is that you may never wear your others after this heavy chunk of gold ends up on your wrist.

In all honesty Alan I personally wouldn't do it. The first reason is that, of course, I think your Omega collection is wonderful and I would be sad to learn you sold some Red Gold pieces (sorry, that's my soft side! ). As for the main reason, instead of getting a soft/prone to stretch or scratch white gold watch, I'd consider either just a stainless steel Submariner or a yellow gold one. It is a beautiful watch indeed but I wouldn't consider it a grail that's worth selling your Omega's (again, that's just my opinion).

I was teetering on the edge as you are until I tried one on.....I have since sold a Pam and Yachtmaster to jump start the savings. The true test will be if I can dump it all on one watch......time will tell.

I wouldn't do it. If I were to get a gold watch it would be yellow/gold in color.
