Which to sell?
1. TT Blue Sub
2. TT YG/SS Blue Dial Yachtmaster If you had both and if you were going to sell one, which would it be? I am thinking seriously about selling one of these Rolex. I love the TT Blue Sub for that great color of blue in the dial. It is also a little less blingy than the TT YM. However I love the TT YM as it is hot looking and has the Maxi Dial which I love. In fact my only complaint about the new Explorer II I bought and the TT Blue Sub is the lack of a Maxi Dial. So if you wanted to pare down your collection to just one TT which would you sell? |

I voted the YM just because I love the blue TT sub so much. The YM is an excellent watch as well but im just partial to the Sub.

Off the Sub. Real Subs are black.
Seriously, why are you considering selling?

I'd sell the TT Sub...
to me! Seriously, that's a tough call. Don't you have a green one you can get rid of? If you do sell, for God's sake don't buy another one. At least, not this year. But think how painful it's going to be looking at the hole in your winder where a Rolex used to be...

Tom, Just give one of the two to me. If you really miss it then you will know that you should have sold the other one.

I do have a Green one. The Green LV Sub. Keeping that. I have 4 winding positions on my winder and five Rolex now. So one may have to go...or two. |

Anyway, it IS hard to have to sell one's Rolex under all circumstances. The last Rolex I had I sold to get another Dunhill pipe (which went for 4,500 US Dollars on eBay....an unsmoked Dunhill "Magnum" smoking pipe from 1926).
I had two choices: a) Either keep my Rolex (that I knew was not "unique" as such) b) Go for the - quite rare, since unsmoked! - Dunhill "Magnum" of which only 50 examples are known to have been ever made from 1921 to 1939.

Well, that's tough.
Like you I love the maxi-dial but, between the two I'd probably lose the YM. If it were the plat/SS it would stay, but between the Blue Sub and TT YM, to me the Sub is the more balanced watch. Maybe it's the crown but the Blue Sub strikes the right look. The fact that it doesn't have a maxi-dial doesn't bother me on that watch as, to me, it's "mission" is different. |

Tom, get rid of the blue Sub. Subs should be black......
The YM on the other hand is a masterpiece, just a beautiful combo of blue and gold....one of the best bezels in the entire range . |

Hmmm, I'd say sell the YM. I agree with Mike that if you had the ss/plat version I'd say keep it...but I'm not mad about the blue TT YM...prefer the blue TT sub. Good luck!

Personnally if it was me Tom, I would sell them both and just keep the other 3. A Sub LV, a Explorer II and your Date Just will cover about any situation, travels, or adventures you will encounter. The money in your pocket would pay for a year's living expenses in SEA.
Or my second option, sell them both and buy a TT GMT II or a TT Sub Black/Gold or a SS/Plat YM. |

Chad, you're a man after my own heart! If someone offered to trade a Plat/SS YM for my TT black Sub right now, I'd probably die from terminal indecision. To me they are two of the finest examples of Rolex.

To me, the Plat/SS YM is one of the most gorgeous watches Rolex has ever crafted. I've heard it described as a blinged out Sub, identity crisis Rolex, pretender, etc, etc, but to me it's just plain beautiful.
