Pulled trigger on Datejust

Just ordered a black Datejust 36mm with Jubilee band and black stick dial.

I wear an Explorer II polar since 2001 and wanted for a long time a Sub C. But everytime I wore one it never felt as comfortable as my explorer. And I don't have small wrists (7,5").

Then starte eying the Datejust II but couldn't fall in love with it. Too flashy and oversized. Also difficult fit under a shirt.

This left the classic Datejust. Tried a couple and they looked much smaller in real life than in the pictures on TRF. But very comfortable. I take comfort in the reassuring stories here that 36mm is really not that small and is a classic, timeless size.

Will post pictures when I get it!

Welcome to the Forum and you have bought yourself a classic Rolex. DateJust's are the most popular Rolex sold when you consider sales across the world. Of course on this Forum many prefer the Tool watches but you sure can't go wrong with a DJ. which one did you buy???

Erictolsma, congratulations. Thank you for allowing us to share in your happiness.

I've not seen a DJII in the flesh, but I love my ol' 36mm.

Look forward to seeing your new watch posted here soon :)

First love

My first " proper" watch was a DJ which I bought second hand . i still have it , it is still the most accurate of my watches, new rolexes included , and it is still my go to watch if I cannot decide which one to wear. The boardroom to beach original
