Question about Oval-link USA Jubilee bracelet

Hi All,

When my grandfather passed away a few years ago, he passed on his 1603 DateJust to my brother. He was a jeweler, and looking at the SS USA oval-link jubilee bracelet, it is obvious a few of the "ovals" were replaced, with what look like white gold.

Unfortunately, one of the "ovals" recently fell off, and is now MIA. It happens to be one which connects the clasp with the rest of the bracelet, and thus makes the watch unwearable.

I have searched the forums for these, but only find entire bracelets for sale. Although the bracelet is quite worn (I would rate it at 0% if I was selling!) it has great meaning to us, and replacing is a last resort. Can anyone point me in the direction of a watch repair shop which may have broken oval-link bracelets which may be able to part with one of the ovals?

Thanks,

Justin

Many of the Rolex oval link jubilee bands were made in the USA by JB Champion and will be marked that way. Here is one for sale. You would have to have the end links fitted and swap out the clasp but it is a great way to basically get a NOS bracelet for your DJ at a fraction of the cost

Jim, the ebay link you provided for the JB band is not the same type of oval links as found on the oval link Rolex band. Also, the band on ebay is gold plated.

Thanks, guys.

John, I will contact Tudorman. I am hoping to be able to repair this one rather than replace. I had looked at oval link bracelets as replacements, but looking carefully at the links on this bracelet shows that my grandfather worked on it numerous times, and I would feel best if that passes down with the watch. Hopefully I can dig up some of his old tools to crimp some of the links together.

I'll post pics when, and if, I'm successful!
