Pulling out crown to adjust time on a sub 16610

Hi All
bought a submariner last month second hand fully serviced and 2year warranty,and all seems to be ok except when I pull the crown out to change the date , i can do this with ease, but seem to need to apply more pressure to get the crown out further to change the time, is this normal.

The problem you are having is the first intermediate setting wheel needs to have a little grease on it so It can mesh with the calendar quick set gear. So when you pull the stem out rotate it a bit till it meshes then it will go into time setting mode easier. Hope that helps Rikki

Thanks for the input, it has just had a full service should the grease have been applied at service ? or is it just one of those things.

Should have been there's a transition period when the gears stick a little put it in calendar mode and change a whole month or 2 of dates will help to get the oil or grease spread around. Rikki

and again thanks for the past comments ,i dont wear my 16610 much as its the only one i have so i try to look after it,but the issue with crown has got worse
and it got to a point were i could not change the time it was just getting almost impossible to pull the crown out ,then finally it came free, and i was then able to change the time but on closer inspection of the crown i could see some white specks or something maybe corrosion or maybe dry oil or crease?.
My next step is to take it back as it was fully serviced when i bought it.
Also is there some where on the forum that shows exploded views of the crown etc how it works for 16610.
Ok and dont jump down my throat ,if the crown is pulled out is a little dab of machine oil worth placing there?.
The other thing i have noticed that when changing the date it moves around a bit not very uniform is this normal.

I wouldn't manually try to put any oil on it myself. Besides I don't think oil would go anywhere but inside the case and it would more than likely be a specific kind of oil.

Maybe Ricki will show back up and enlighten us, however since you had the watch serviced just recently I would take these concerns to those who serviced your watch. By the way was this a person with a Rolex parts account?

The part that is sticking is under the dial so hands and dial off then the 2 little gears can be oiled. It's a 20 minute job assuming that that is the whole problem. Rikki
