Welcome to the Forum, how many hours a day do you wear it? Rolex watches are automatics and are self winding so you are either not very active or you also do not wear it for very long each day as well. Unscrew the crown out to the first position(I believe)and give the watch 40 clockwise turns which will fully wind up the watch and remember to push the crown back in and screw it down not tight but snug. These are the direction for Tool watches if the directions for DateJusts are different I'm sure someone will correct me shortly. In the mean time you can Google directions for winding a Rolex Datejust and see what comes up!!!

Your watch has the cal 3135 movement and should be fully manual wound to start wearing, 40 full crown turns clockwise. Then if you wear it for around 8-10 hours a day then it should keep power reserve topped up.When your watch is fully manual wound it should run for around 40-48 hours while off wrist. Now even when worn its possible for the watch not to get to its peak power reserve if say you have a desk job.So even when worn its not a problem to give it a manual wind say once or twice a week.

Yes...it's normal for your DJ to stop but only if it's because you don't wear it enough or are not active enough. As already mentioned, give it 40 turns at least once a week and see if that helps. I wear my DJ daily and am fairly active and never had a problem until about a month ago. I was ill and sitting on the couch for most of the day for about a week. Guess what? It stopped. I'm now in the practice of winding my DJ once a week.
