Wow, that is an old thing.

Do you know the year of production?

What kind of bracelet are you going to put on it?

Where'd you get it?

Questions, I got questions...

Congrats on the "new" watch!

Excellent watch my friend - the 1680 is my fav. Rolex Sub.
A nod must go to to Mike also: that man knows a thing or two about vintage pieces.

Is that a 1960's production?

Thanks guys! This watch is an early edition, 2.29 million serial (I lucked out, puts her at 1967ish). I often wear my white 1680 however, this one might spend most of her time resting in the safe. I would love to see some of the other members vintage pieces too!

I'm about 1967ish, 7/27/67 to be exact so does that entitle me to birth day/year priority if you unexpectantly need to clear out that safe. No need to make a decision right now. I'm just saying...

Have an appointment next week for buying one like that, next on my list is a red Sea Dweller, excellent choice.
Possible you bought this one on another forum?
