Great Day to watch and play golf.

Well I went and played 27 holes this AM (finally broke 80 for the first time this year though I've only played 4-5x so far with a 77). Now I'm watching the WGC Cadilliac Championship. Tiger started strong with an Eagle at 1. Hit it to about a foot. Adam Scott, Bubba Watson, Sergio, and Stricker all around the lead. Looks like its going to be a great tournament. Rory and Phil around E or +1.

I'm jealous. We're still up to our umm...inner thigh... in snow here in Wisconsin. I polished up the clubs this weekend and the weather seems to be breaking finally.

+1 on the tournament. Good field this week.

I hear ya! It's 65 and sunny today, which is unheard of for this time of the year. I'm looking forward to the WGC this weekend. I hope there's a close race on Sun. I'm not his biggest fan but I'd like to see Tiger take it. Especially after the 62 he shot last Sun. That round was incredible. Personal and course record.

Was he wearing a new Sky-Diddy?
Maybe he can't set it right...

I think Tiger is as open and happy as ever (except when Alex Micilli sp?) pissed him off the other day. I think he is in a great place in his life now and his golf game is improving because of that. At tournaments he is actually going out to eat with other golfers which he hasn't done since his early 20's. I'm pulling for him and I think he is having fun. Last night on the range he and Butch Harmon were laughing their a$$ off. Even other folders are tweeting about how positive he has been and how much fun it's been with him back.

I am too. Golf hasn't been as fun to watch the last couple of years. The tour definitely needs him to challange these youngsters...and the less pudgy Phil.

The way he's spraying it around the course, he's not much of a challenge. It takes 4 rounds to win. Not a fan, obviously

I just ordered new irons and will be picking them up tomorrow hopefully.

Can someone tell me how to hold these things again? It's not like a baseball bat right.

Bruno, the grip is the key. Try and get your pinky on your right on top of left index. Or interlocked if your hands are smaller(Tiger does this)

A strong grip is better than a weak one, turn hands to the right on the club.

Get a mouldered grip training aid or the leadbetter swing setter.

This gonna be fun. I won't be able to blame the clubs anymore cause I bought great ones.
The grip you describe above is the one I use when I take a pee.

Well don't choke the hell out of it, you need a light pressure on it. I'm talking about the club btw.

Golf can get as bad a watches. Memberships are getting out of this world expensive. I played the Woods Hole Golf Course last summer. It was a very nice course if you can get on.

No unfortunately I've never played there but Truro is top of the line as far as towns on the cape.

I'll never join a golf course as I'm not into the game enough to justify the expense.

My dad is a member at a private course on the cape but I was banned from playing there last year. The good news is that they are going to give me a second chance this year.

I know of the woods hole course but have never played it but my dad has several times.

Small world. I was banned from the course I grew up on for 3 months in high school. It was also my after school job so I got to work there but not play. I'm lucky I didn't get fired for being a dumb kid (I probably should've been.)

I deserved the ban. I was playing with my dad and I hit into the people in front of us and didn't yell 4. My excuse was I never hit one that far and straight before which was not a lie but they were playing slow all day. Then a few holes later I hit a left hand hook and the ball hit someones house hard. I went into their private property to retrieve my ball because it was a brand new titleist and the owner of the house came out screaming at me for trespassing on his property. That was pretty much the end for me.

This is the place.

Nice!!!! I played 13 holes this am before having to go to the clubhouse and meet with our wedding planner. I played a few courses in NY the past year. I waited 6 months to play Bethpage after the US Open. I got on Shinnecock Hills last October and played 2 rounds. Some great courses up there. Also played Winged Foot and LI National 2 years ago. I've been very lucky in my short life and played some amazing courses all over the US. This summer I'm going to get to play Liberty National is our golf pro emeritus at my home course health improves.

Well I guess there are no more excuses. Now when I miss I can't blame the clubs anymore.

Nice irons. Im playing the TM Burner 2.0's now but by the start of summer I'll switch to my Titeliest MB forged when my ball striking gets the rust off. I lose 10 yards a club but it's much easier to move the ball but the miss hits are much worse. I have a G20 driver and like it. Just picked up a R11s too and love it. My first real set of clubs were Ping Eye 2's. Still have them. Great clubs.

DAMN. Clubs are getting as oversized as watches these days. I'm still playing with blades, MP-32 and -33, I have a set of -67s but never really liked them.

^Thanks. I love looking at them so that's at least half the battle plus I was fitted for them.

As far as woods go all I have is a cobra driver cause I lost my 3 wood in the woods and someone stole my hybrid club.
I'm going to get new woods and have narrowed it down to the ping g20's or those new rocket balz. Any thoughts?

I'm about a 3.5 handicap when playing a lot. My home course I'm a scratch in the summer. Best advice I can give you is hit the range atleast 4 days a week if you have the time and don't carry a longer iron than a 5. I'm the 3rd best player in my foursome and none carry less than a 5. Hybrids took me from a 76 being a great day to breaking 70 once s week or so in 4-6 months. I'm even considering dropping the 5 iron for a hybrid for my normal setup. If its really windy I will put a 4 in my bag because I hit the hybrids very high. I can hit my 5-2 irons well but you need to flush it almost every time to really need them in your bag. At the range spend 40% of you time on shots 30 yards and in and you will cut atleast 6-8 shots off a round. I didn't believe this until I took it seriously. Work hard but enjoy it.

I'm not even close. I can't break 100 yet but I don't really play or practice enough to improve. My irons start at 4 and I'm more confident hitting them over woods.
