Arm pain from watch?

Has anyone ever experienced pain from wearing your Rolex? I've had my DJII for one month and it's the heaviest watch I've ever worn. I've noticed lately that the weight of the watch seems to be making a small pain in my arm right under the head of the watch. I don't think it's too tight, because I can fit my pinky under the bracelet. I'm just hoping I get used to it or I may have to flip it for a lighter watch.

I've never had any problem with my sub, the IWC AT is pretty heavy though. (still didn't really bother me)

Is it muscle pain or surface pain?

feels like muscle - It's a similar feeling to when I used to played guitar too long.

I have so many other watches that weigh much more than a Rolex. Can't imagine it causing pain from the weight of it.

You can bench 265 and yet the weight of your watch is bothering you?

Hit the weights!

No seriously the DJII isn't that heavy a watch in the grand scheme of things. Try a 45mm Omega PO 8500 sometime!

I think you'll get used to it. If not you'd have to go to a smaller or thinner watch and most of Rolex's new ones are on par with the DJ in terms of weight.

I've had some wrist issues from playing guitar - maybe the watch is irritating an early onset of carpal tunnel, I sure hope not.

Could be. Do other watches cause similar issues?

My only other watch is a Bulova 21 jewel automatic and it causes no issues.

It had to get used to my PAM 86.
A whole lot heavier watch than I was used to wear

I just switched to my opposite wrist (right wrist ) - WOW does this feel askward. Funny thing is that I used to always wear it on my right wrist. I'm right handed so the bracelet may get a lot more scratches from my desk. I'll give this a day and see how it goes. I'd really prefer to be able to wear my watch on my left hand, but oh well.

I still think you'll get used to it. If not you'll really not be able to wear higher end swiss automatic watches. Most of them have some heft similar to your Rolex.

Give it some more time.

That's why you should've gone for the classic 36mm, and not the oversized II ;)

If you can hold out, give it some more time. It took 2 or 3 months to get used to my Sub-C as a daily wearer, probably because I wear it a little tighter than my other watches.

Was there any pain or discomfort while getting used to it?

I got a bit of a sore wrist from my old GMT2c. It wasn't due to the weight (been wearing Panerai for 10 years), more due to the fit. Something about the angle of the bracelet turning on my wrist, probably similar to the "torque" comment above. I tried loosening it up, but then the watch head just dug into my hand.

I ended up flipping it, then tried the Sub-C (which sits less flush on the wrist) a few months later. Sub-C never hurt, just got uncomfortable after wearing it for more than a few hours. I started by not wearing it for more than 1 day in a row and taking it off a couple of times during the day, then gradually increased the amount of wrist time. After a few months I had no problem wearing it to work most days without noticing it. I still prefer a lighter watch on a strap (usually my IWC Mark XVI) over the weekend.

I have worn a number of watches, including PAMs.
There was one, not the heaviest, but the way it torqued on the bracelet, the crown put a pressure point on the back of my wrist that would be painful. It was like accupuncture in reverse. Just the position of this watch, the way the bracelet fit etc made it miserable to wear this.
