Wanna lose weight FAST?

Get food poisoning.

I went to one of my favorite sub-shops called Firehouse Subs on Saturday. Odd, as soon as I ate half of the sub, I felt like it was stuck in my intestines. Around midnight, the extensive 'prayer' to the porcelain god started, along with excessive sweating, fever, shaking - the whole nine. Lovely.

Was bed-bound all day Sunday, maybe ate 4-5 small pretzels all day. Had zero appetite, still really don't. But just for s**ts and giggles, decided to weigh myself Monday morning (today) - I weighed 195lb, nearly 5 pounds down from the last weigh-in on Saturday morning. My abs are even showing. If I can do it, so can you.

You are a great asset of this forum's health department, Greg! I shall go and eat that smelly fish I found in my fridge a couple of days ago!

Stay tuned...

I'm up for the challenge, what would be the best way to get on this diet? Visit the nasty kebab shop down the road? Or just eat some raw chicken?

Nothing like a little food poisoning to slim you down. Hopefully the firehouse sub shop didn't get more people sick!

the worst part of getting food poisoning is figuring out which end of your body to serve the toilet gods and sometimes it's both at the same time....

Luckily, my body was very certain which end to release the toxins out of... After using up a commercial-size bottle of Listerine (kind with the shoulder-strap and a foot-pump ), I still taste the acid.

You are dehydrated and as soon as your bodily functions return to normal so will your weight.

Eat tons of yogurt as well.

Restore that good bacterial balance or else you'll be backed up worse than an LA freeway at rush hour.

BTW: It may not have been the sub. Food poisoning takes 4-7 hours usually.

X2

Unfortunately this kind of weight loss is usually just temporary.

Jason, that's about how long it took. I ate the Sub around dinner, and just after midnight is when the fireworks began...

Don't know from Cincy, but here in the 'burgh we've seen a lot of what people refer to as "stomach virus" cases all through this winter. These are typically rotavirus infections, self-limiting in healthy people, and they take anywhere from 6 to up to 24 hours to flush out. The flushing out part isn't much fun, but when it's done, it's done, and you're good to go. Get yer Gatorade going for a day or two and eat a few cheesburgers and you're right back where you started.

Meanwhile, you're probably thinking you'll never again eat a firehouse sub. In my case, it was my ex's homemade tomato soup that I'll never eat again. Not because it was poison, but because I need somebody to blame.
