Help! Is this a real rolex box or fake?

Bought this box without looking too closely. NOw I see that beyond the stamp on the front, there are NO Rolex markings, as you would expect, either inside or on the bottom. Fake? I am afraid so...but I ask TRF members....yes or no?

I suspect that that is a fake box. Where did you buy it from? Sellers location? WEe you trying to source a correct box for the 5513? If so that old not be the correct box anyway.

You should have a "green strip"outer cardboard box and a inner coffin style box. The real box experts live over on the VRF....I suggest you post and check there.

Maybe our own Springer may chime in here as he is a bit of an expert as well.

The box is fake. Rolex did not supply watches in a box like this.

One major difference between yours and mine: Yours has Rolex written on inside of box lid. Mine doesn't. Also, I'd bet yours has the Montres Rolex writing on bottom. Mine doesn't...;(

It does have both of those things, but the quote:

"The box is fake. Rolex did not supply watches in a box like this."

makes me wonder what 'box like this' means. They look pretty similar to me.

As long as it has the Montres Rolex writing on the bottom with a box code of 68.00.55, does that mean it's authentic?

Just trying to help others...

Good point and I'd like to know, too. Seems like that could be easily faked...I did go to the website suggested above, rolexephemera...and they have a gallery of boxes from the 1940s on...but it is a bit confusing because I'm not sure that Rolex didn't make different boxes for different regions of the world...so we are still confused..! expert help needed!

My man, believe!! Your box is a long way different from that pictured by Paul.

Let's keep it simple.

Paul's box is FAKE.

There were differences between European and American box sets.
