Rolex around the inner ring
When did Rolex start doing this? Do all Rolex models have it?
My Daytona has it, but my LV does not. Both purchased from AD a couple of months ago. |

I like it either way, so it makes no difference to me.

The inner chapter ring is so subtle, you cannot really notice the engraving unless you actually go to look for it. So even though I do not own a watch with the chapter ring engraved, Im sure that I would not be bothered by it if it was engraved.
Not all Rolex models have the engraving but its been gradually making its way through the Oyster line of models. I have just seen it on the Explorer II.

I have done a lot of digging through old posts here and TZ regarding this very question concerning the new DJ .
Some early D SN new style DJs do not have the chapter ring. Most late D SN new Style DJs and afterwards have the chapter ring. There have been members here and TZ that have posted pics of their own watches to confirm this. And you may wonder why the research? I'll post pics soon! |

Recently(past couple of years) they have been introducing the ROLEX ring.
My 116713LN has it and my Z 16710 does not. My understanding is that it is a anti-counterfieting thing.

I have it on my new TT GMT Master II C "Green Arrow"
I didn't think I would like it from the photos, but in real life it is very subtle, plus your serial number is engraved on the ring, inside the watch but visible from the outside if you look carefully at 6 O'Clock. Pretty cool, actually, and might help against counterfeiting, I suppose.

Not every Rolex has the chapter ring branding, YET! Rolex just introduced the COSC version of the Sub 14060 and it has the chapter ring branding. I have also seen pics of SS Daytonas that have it. The new GMT II's have it as well.
