If You Could Only Wear One Watch For The Rest Of Your Life

Simple thread, if you could only wear one watch for the rest of your life what would that watch be?

great choice! combines the strength and lifetime reliability of a tool watch whilst the yellow gold gives it the dress watch appearance.

Well stated. I have several different watches that mean a lot and couldn't choose just one. Also, several more I plan to get!

that said if that is your choice, it says a whole lot about the good ole sub.

Plain and simple... The 1655 simply because I currently do not own it and hands down must have been the most controversial non precious metal Rolex ever produced.

Hmmm... Did I really say that? Now that I own a 1655, I can honestly say that it will be hard to take this one off! Now when folks tell me to act and dress my age I can just roll up my sleeve and carry on!

After many Breitlings, Rolexes, Omegas and a Cartier, this would be the one:

I don't know how I ignored this watch for so long. I think it was mainly because I didn't need or want a chronograph, and I thought it was too big for me. Once a friend of mine on anothe forum said he was getting one, I went down to the Omega Boutique and had a look. I started to get very interested, when I found it has a manually wound movment, and a hesalite crystal. Two things I have been wanting for a long time. In addition, I well remember watching the moon landing in 1969 with my father:

In other ways 1969 was a huge year for me. So, now I have an Omega Speedmaster Professional, and I have no doubt whatsoever that it is the one. For a couple of years, it was my Rolex Explorer I 36mm, but this has taken over.
I love the looks of it, and in addition it is the most comfortable watch I have had, even though it is 42mm wide. More comfortable, in fact, than my Explorer, which is odd with the Explorer having the tapering bracelet, and the smaller size.

Cheers
Carl

Amazing post, thank you for sharing. I think it is always good to own a watch that symbolizes a particular period/event or era like your Speedmaster does. A watch that you can connect with on a non-physical level. I hope you continue to enjoy wearing it in good health.
