I use the sellers on TRF to get my watches, so I don't need to haggle with an AD. Yes, please take the stickers off! Almost all Rolex's are WP rated to 100 meters. Don't think a shower will hurt it any.

It sounds like the pressures of moderating are gradually getting to you Ken

But you have my sympathies given some of the many "interesting and well thought out" questions and threads that are asked/started.......

Hang in there...... something that deserves your intellect, attention and horological knowledge will be along soon.........

I certainly hope so

In the meantime...... does the second hand always go in a clockwise direction ?????

The second hand does indeed go clockwise, except in a leap year when it reverses to anti-clockwise.

Not if it's on a winder that's spinning counter clockwise positioned south of the equator

I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to get the stickers wet.

I'm actually in the process of designing a protective sticker that goes over your protective stickers, to protect them. Stay tuned.

Come on Ken...you need to ask specifically about the "Average" discount on a Stainless steel watch.

Randomly reported / out of context averages are the most useful data points for a new buyer walking in to an AD to consider! They are key indicators to the double digit discounts you can get just for asking on uber popular watches.

Hahahahaha.

Great thread!

I can't believe Ken and you guys are poking fun at my buddy Bill! I know that all new Rolex pieces with the green sticker will command a 75% increase during resale! I know because my AD told me!

My Rolex stopped. Can I get the battery changed at an AD? What is an AD anyway?

Ken, Thank you for making me smile this morning. I don't think I ever read someone saying something so clearly without saying it at all. Like a comedian that doesn't curse, it is a lost art.

All of the above questions, plus my AD supposedly lost his lease on his brick and mortar establishment. Right now he has all his stock in the lining of his jacket. What kind of discount should I ask for???? I've also found another watch from a friend who inherited it from his grandfather and left it in a safe for the last 10 years. My camera is busted. When I post blurry pics taken with my 4 years old's Fisher Price camera, will you guys tell me how many thousands I could sell this Day Date Daytona for???

Just PM a mod, they have the inside track on this. Many are tied direct to Rolex. They'll deny that statement, but we all know it to be true.

Do you take your stickers off?
Again, better PM a mod, but the saying here is "Only chumps take their stickers off, WIS's put their wrist in a mobile hyperbolic chamber. Remember Zoolander.....it's true...."

Lastly- Is it safe to shower with your Rolex on??
Again, better PM a mod and question the validitiy of a 300m tested diver's watch.

Hope that helps.

And don't forget to PM Peter aka Padi and ask him what kind of winder he uses on his rare error dial 3186 M GMT.
