Hear hear, what's the point in having the good stuff in a safe? If you can't use it ,why bother getting one?

If you need a "beater", why bother with a fake Rolex?

Just get yourself a genuine SEIKO!!

I agree - don't fuel the fire with the replicas - defninitely in poor taste.

Here is a pic of my beater (and diver).

Here's my "daily beater" for the past half decade. It doesn't look too bad and I never thought of having a "stand in" in case it got scratched. Even though I replaced a badly scratched insert on it a couple of years ago, all it took was a good wash and a wipedown with a sunshine cloth for this photo..

I have a "beater" it is my SD Rolex, it is the king tank tool watch. There is nothing I can do to a SD that can not be buffed out or fixed if I damage it. So far so good. Why buy a Rolex if you are not going to use it I say. IMHO

I can understand the use of a replica if we're dealing with say a museum piece on display for posterity in a high risk environment, but even then, the relevant authorities would not disclose for certain whether the piece is actually genuine or not.

For a Rolex, or any other timepiece for that matter, it is first and foremost a tool, and if you're going to get one, why hide it away and fake it? If the situation you're going into involves beating, then get a beatable watch...

Nope, no interest. I have a Seiko Black Monster, Casio Pathfinder and Timex Ironman if I really want / need to wear a watch in situations where I may substantively beat it up.

Replicas / fakes are simply stealing the intellectual property rights and efforts of the original manufacturers.

Sup,

An Invicta is a respectable purchase.. And you have a watch with a respectable following.. A great beater when necessary..

As others have said, I'm not sure why you would believe that a Rolex needs to be left at home rather than being worn. While expensive in watch terms, they are not particularly delicate and in most cases do not need to be "protected"

Dont buy something you cant afford to loose, or damage in this case. I am absolutly shocked out much dmg my crystal can take and not scratch, of course the body has scratches but with a clean and clear face it looks great.

Replica / Fakes / Counterfeits are funding the mob / underworld business. There was a recent report that this is a multi-billion dollar industry and the world hasn't really taken a second look.

I wear my Prez everyday. I will echo what has allready been said. Rolexes are to wear! My watch being all 18K is considered to be the "weakest" of Rolexes, BUT it is still tougher than most anything else out there!

True story, don't buy a fake anything. You truly are funding some of the biggest scumbags in the world. It's not like your less of a man for not having a Rolex on the cut your grass or trim your trees......

Fake's are just that. Wear the real thing or nothing.
My boss appeared at work the other day with a fake GMT on, I lost a lot of respect for him for some reason.
