Finally found perfect bracelet fit (ez-link open)

After seven weeks of ownership, I finally found a perfect fit for my DJII. It stays above my wrist bone and rarely slides over my wrist bone on to my hand AND does not leave imprint marks on my wrist.

Unfortunately, the perfect fit involves my ez-link being in the open position. My perfect fit: removed one link, spring bar in middle of the three positions inside the clasp, and the ez-link open. I'm trying to figure out if there is any way for me to duplicate this to the millimeter with the ez-link closed. From what I've read in other posts each of my links is 10mm, the ez-link is 5mm, and the distance between spring bar options is 2mm.

Therefore, If I were to close my ez-link i'd be at -5, then I'd add a link and be +5, I could then move my spring bar to the tightest position and I'd be at +3mm, which I've had this setting and it was too loose and easily slid over my wrist bone. Are there any other options? I know it seems silly to want to adjust my bracelet when I've found the perfect fit; however, I'd like to reserve the option of opening the ez-link if my wrist ever needed it in the middle of a hot, sticky day.

Sub Question: Are there any negatives to wearing your ez-link open 100% of the time besides not being able to use it for it's intended purpose of temporary relief? I read a very old post of JJ's where he thought that wearing the ez-link open put more strain on the springbar.

P.S. It's amazing how much of a difference 3mm makes in the fit of a watch bracelet!

I have a similar problem with my DJII, I wear it with all the links(as it came new), middle position springbar, and ez link open, basically it was a perfect fit when i bought it new with the ez link being open.

However, I also prefer to have it closed, one reason being that it does not rattle as much. Right now with the EZ link open when I shake my wrist a bit, it rattles...

As for it being better for the watch, it could be possible. That fact you mentioned with strain on the spring bar could easily be true if you look at it.


ANYWAYS.. lol, why not just add the link and close the ez link? -5 +5, so your good?Why would you also want to do the +3mm? that would change you from your "prefect setting" right?

The link is 10mm and the ez-link is only 5mm. Therefore, it would change the fit by +5mm.

I had this exact same issue with my DJII. I had to leave the EZ link open to get the perfect fit. I think perhaps your only option would be to add a half link and see if you can dial it in from there.

I dont personally believe you will have any issues leaving the easy link open... Rolex designed it this way to be open/closed

I didn't realize you can purchase a 1/2 oyster link.

i had the same issue not only with my datejust2 but with my sub lv, an easy fix after contacting puffy aka Anders, the solution a subc 1/2 link, Anders is a trustworthy guy and i highly recommend him
