Disappearing members
I understand the process involved in the banning of someone, but what has occurred when a member and their postings just disappear. In the thread started by odie2355 (he's banned and the thread is closed) two other posters, Thinkbachs and Blue Rocket and their postings just disappeared. Did they just take their marbles and go home in a huff (stop being members and this caused their posts to disappear) or have they done something so wrong that we do not even acknowlege their existence? Personally I like the shaming effect that the word "banned" has when it's under someone's name.

mods removed their posts probably to help cool down the thread
banning and post deleting are two different acts by the mods |

No, I think they were banned and the posts removed by a moderator because of the content. From what I read, there wasn't anything really inflammatory (at least in the ThinkBachs posts). When it comes to any topic, I think it's informative to have input from the other side of any topic.
As much as we may not want to acknowledge things that we disagree with, there is at least some commonality that can be appreciated. He did bring up a good point about the effort they put into sharing their knowledge to police eBay, and protect unsuspecting buyers from falling for fake watches. If some can't find anything positive about what they do, there is at least that much. After some more thought, I can understand that in the long run it is better to keep the forum free from those who are not dedicated Rolex Fans. |

Trf has a zero tolerance policy for (as has been brilliantly put above by Paul) "fake fanboys"... They can stay on their sites and post about their crap looking real all they want. But they just keep on coming on here..... They're existence on here was removed....hence the deleted posts. This is a site for genuine people, with a genuine passion for genuine watches (or in the fake lovers terms: "gen") End of story

trf is a very sweet place to discuss these fine timepieces.
the moderation keeps it clean and simple, like a tidy magazine or news article
