Visiting Europe next month, so just wonder, is it safe wearing a Rolex in Paris?

I would say... don't show off your wrist between 1:30am and 1:35am, there is a lot of ugly and dirty french stolers around at that time.

It is safe to wear a Rolex in Paris, you just need to make sure you sit properly in those gondolas, you don't want to fall in the water and damage your watch!

Paris is a city and like any city it has rough parts. However you should exercise the same vigilance you would in any unknown city by sticking to well known and well lit areas at night etc.

If you do that you should be fine. Insurance will lift a huge weight of your shoulders as well.

being from Paris, i can tell you there are lots of easterners pickpockets in the subway and few non touristic areas with africans populations that are unsafe (not only to your rolex).

Paris is a place where they steal your smartphone when you talk on the street, your cartier glasses when you walk... and this could occur anywhere in paris or its suburbs.

If you are afraid about your watch i do understand why... don't show it too much, don't be crushed in crowded area, avoid the young easterners and you will be safe, and enjoy the city!!!

A bit judgmental huh? Just so you know, these comments send a negative message to others about visiting Paris. Contrary to what you are actually trying to say, it sounds as if you are a racist.

you are right and anyone can also be fooled by westerners looking people, what i wanted to outline is the existing of a "community" ring from young easterners trained to pickpoket in subway and crowded areas. Those are the biggest threat for stealing tourists in all european cities. Sorry if it bother some people to tell the sad truth

In all honesty I'd say that whether they come from North, South, East or West one should be careful with pickpockets and thieves everywhere he goes. No one is fully protected against them and we should warn people about dishonest robbers in general rather than a specific skin color, nationality or origin, no matter what's the proportion of them in the "thieves" part of a city.

That is, unless they're mimes. In this case you must always be careful!

We're on a Rolex forum. An international brand... There are people from all over the world from all sorts of backgrounds. It is ridiculous to tell tourist visiting your country to be suspicious of "Certain" people.
