Fisker Karma

Any owners on here yet ? I been looking into one, to me I can't go wrong, the price is right, the fuel efficiency is great, and its just a sexy ass car in general, everytime I see one I'm just like and I'm not quite ready to spend $200K + on a Virage or drop even more on a gas guzzler with similar lines

Fisker Karma not really for me yet. It sure looks nice but for me cars are not just about looks. Not going to spend that amount of money on a rookie in the auto industry...

I dunno... the Karma seems all show to me. Weighs over 4000 pounds. Performance figures worse than a bone stock Mustang GT. What's to love?

For half the money, you can get get a Tesla S, with better performance, comfortable seating for 4, and an all-electric drivetrain.

Yeah I heard the performance isn't too great. I just googled the Tesla S, that's a hot car ! Another one to consider

I rode in one; it's too quiet for me. I'd rather save a lot of money and get a Maserati Quattroporte.

The F.K. is a fine example and I love the 2012 Karma for it's pure and aggresive looks! It's one of those items where you can say you were the first to get in when they came out, however did someone say 458 Italia?

FK is also sold by my Porsche dealer. He said there are still issues with it and "we sell it and let people know it's not perfect". Personally I would let them work out the kinks before buying one. Just my .02.

Great Advice Paul (texex91)

Consumer Reports test driveOn March 7, 2012, a Fisker Karma purchased for $107,850 by Consumer Reports magazine was taken out for a test drive at the 327-acre (1.32 km2) CR test track facility in Connecticut. The Karma had less than 200 miles (320 km) on its odometer. While performing a routine speedometer calibration check prior to actual road testing, the car broke down and could not be restarted. "We buy about 80 cars a year and this is the first time in memory that we have had a car that is undriveable before it has finished our check-in process."
The fault was traced to a defective battery caused by a misaligned welding robot at the A123 factory. The battery was replaced in a week. A123 is replacing affected batteries in the Karma and 4 other customers to a cost of $55 million. Warranty for the Karma will be extended to 60 months and 60,000 miles in North America.

Hope you buy another car with the Fisker for when it breaks down (which is rather often).

My friend has one. It spends a lot of time at the dealership.

Off-topic.... I always thought "Carma" would be a great name for a towing company!

Unless you have a hankering to plug your car into a socket and drive in stealth mode like Knight Rider, there are 100's of lovely cars to buy. Many recommended above, although from what I remember the Fisker is a 4 seat sedan so not sure the fit to a Ferrari, I agree with the comments about the Maserati being a nice alternative, and at least they should be as reliable as an unproven Hybrid. E55 or new M5 will scare you as well. With my recently sold S6 Audi with RS6 wheels, I worked out in an average 12 month period i did $2000 in gas and $2,400 in tyres, so for what it does for you gas prices are still a bargain. Moreover the more people who change to small cars and hybrids the longer the gas reserves will last.

If your money's still burning a hole in your pocket for one of these... well, let's just say what happens to your garage might be Karma!

Not a fan.. If you can swing a 100k car, do you really care about the cost of gas?

I gotta say they are the first car I have seen EVER that offered some hope, some glimmer, that we wont all be destined to drive around in little snoreboxes that look like packaging for ladies hosiery. The Fisker and the new hybrid (admittedly a concept) roadster that BMW have come out with...?? I keep hoping. Maybe the cars in the future wont all look like salad shooters after all...
