It depends on what you wish to own the most, it's going to be your watch after all.

I would not.

Hmmmm I would normally say AP but not a massive rubberclad fan. If it was another AP model I would say yes. Either way it is your choice good luck

I assume you are asking if anyone would trade a SS Daytona FOR an AP Rubberclad with cash?

Hmm, that's a tough one. I own a TT Daytona and a Rubberclad and they wear very different. I don't wear my Daytona often because it doesn't have a date which bugs me for a daily wearer. I love my AP RC and I think if I could only own one from your options, it would be the AP.

My guess is most will opt for the Daytona since this is a Rolex forum but only you can decide. The Daytona is far away a more recognizable watch to the public so if that is important, perhaps the Daytona is a better choice?

Good luck.

Not the rubber clad, but I would seriously consider trading with any AP ROO.

I always find these posts kind of stupid because of where the OP is asking the question. Go on to a BMW forum then ask them which is better, an Audi or a BMW and what do you think will be the answer?

If you are looking for an unbiased opinion OP, don't bother to ask here or on an AP forum either. If you want a subjective opinion, go to a forum that is not brand specific and perhaps you might find some constructive dialog but here, forget it.

Pick what you want and forget what anyone here has to say on either side.

If you're not using the Daytona, do it.

Tough one.
It would have to depend on the rest of my collection, but I would lean toward yes

Not for that AP I wouldn't---while the AP is arguably more finely made overall, the Rolex has a fully integrated column-wheel chronograph (4130) widely regarded as one of the most finely engineered chrono calibers of all time. The Offshore uses a fine in-house base caliber too, BUT the 3120 base is not a chronograph caliber from the ground up and has to be joined to a chronograph module to give it that function. To me, that makes it a lesser creation from an engineering standpoint, than the Daytona---even though the movement in the AP is doubtless decorated to a considerably higher degree than the Rolex offering.

A better comparison--at least for me--would be the Royal Oak Chronograph. Then, you're talking another great integrated column-wheel chronograph caliber to compare against the one in the Daytona: the famous Frederic Piguet 1185. Suddenly, the Daytona has got some REALLY serious chrono competition!

Although "Purists" would call it a non in-house movt hence much more inferior... on the side note... do whatever you want... it's your money, hence you should be the one satisfied, not anyone else

That's so ! So no one should buy a ROO because the chrono movement isn't a "ground up" chrono? Blahhh!

I would guess even here in the WIS dom world you would be hard pressed to find a potential buyer who wouldn't purchase a ROO beause the movement in an AP ROO isnt engineered enough!

Poppycock I say!!
