New DSSD!
Feels great, looks great, very comfortable. I like knowing I have a watch on my arm, so I appreciate the heft. I know many prefer to not notice at all. I purchased my first Milgauss GV from my local AD for the experience, however I bought this one from MOSCO from this forum and had a fantastic experience, even more so than the AD. He is very honest, willing to answer questions before AND after the transaction. I can't say enough him. I would strongly recommend him, as so many on here have. The watch was BNIB and it was awesome removing all of the plastic pieces and slowly examining all of the beautiful attention to dealer.
I took the DSSD to our local clock shop where we have purchased a grandfather clock, cuckoo clock, etc. They service Rolex(and are big fans!) as well as Patek's. They have been in business for 24 yrs and strongly stated I should avoid serving the watch every 5-7 yrs as recommended. I listened intently and asked MANY questions. He explained the synthetic oil lubrication, which I knew and that the older ones mineral oil AND whale oil(fat) and those watches definitely needed servicing. I do know the majority of you guys say otherwise, but they absolutely love and service the finest mechanical watches. I'm going to have to sleep on this one. If I can figure out to post a wrist shot it will follow in a few days. This watch, transaction with MOSCO, link removal, and one on one talk with fellow watch WIS's made this day fantastic! |

Nice choice Mike.
Regarding the service of a DSSD when the time comes. I'm not sure if there is a RSC in the States that can pressure test that puppy? Post some pix when you work it out.

I can only say welcome to the club, on my wrist from 7am to 10pm 7 days a week in a rather hostile environment for a few months at the moment and totally comfortable.

Big congrats. I wouldn't let anyone open that up. The case back tool is very hard to get ahold of and they can't pressure test the watch. The manual states only Rolex should open it. Even though the new oils don't break down parts wear and they still need service every 7-8 years. Not sure why you were told it doesnt need it.
