I'm beginning to see your point TRF!
Guys,
After residing here for quite some time now I'm starting to realise that you guys aren't so crazy as first thought You see, like you all, I love Rolex, always have. But I never thought I'd ever want or need to own more than one. But then the deeper I delved into my WIS affliction, the more I realised that those of you who advocate owning 'a collection' have a point. You see, I want a DSSD but it's size means it can't been worn 24/7, I have a GMTIIc but the PCLs ask for it to be worn in certain circumstances only, I love the Explorer II but feel it's a weekend 'jeans & t-shirt' watch. Then...of course there's the Subc, troubles is, everyone has one, but there again I need to have one too!! And of course there's the iconic Daytona, the classy DJ and the imperious DD.... I could go on... So as I realise the collective wisdom on here, it becomes clear that Rolex aren't far behind the 8-ball either. Not one of their fine pieces ticks every single box, maybe you could argue the Sub comes mighty close, but there again, if you have a Sub, a dressier DJ or even a DD wouldn't go amiss, or something with a 24-hour function....clearly Rolex understand that model specificity means multiple purchases! So when anyone who answers a 'a dilemma post' with "get both" - I know what your saying. I just thought I'd share this epiphany with you all. Now then....DSSD or Subc.... Yours, Stu |

Sub C.
Dont let the PCL dissuade you from wearing your GMTIIC, it is a fantastic piece as well.

Stupid, as now I wear it wherever, whenever I feel and it's AWESOME :) To answer the OP's question, DSSD... I sold my Sub C and kept the DSSD! |

Since you already have the GMTIIc, will the size of the DSSD be a problem? You can always wear both in rotation. If not, it's obvious....the SubC all the way.
Good luck! |

That will have to be a personal decision. I have a feeling the rest of TRF will start posting wrist pics soon. I am a fan of the SUBC

I love my DSSD, but I would highly recommend you try it on in person before purchasing. There are a lot of people who hate it for its size.
I think you may be onto something there with your observations and the need for a collection rather than just one Rolex. It's a conspiracy by Rolex. LOL.

I can't answer your question Stu - that has to be your choice - but speaking as one who has been similarly afflicted, I can empathise with your troubled mindset. Good luck mate...

I love your post and from your thought of the collection I think you should go with a TT djii
pick the dial. I say this because your oh-my-pcl-links-are-too-dressy thing will fade when you add some Yg to your collection. the pcl will be the very reserved casual then. go early on the timeless gold, centuries and ages, and have it solid center link yeah. ! |

Once you go gold, you'll be more precious over that, and the worries about the PCL's on the GMT will go away :-)

Just have the PLC professionally brushed out and be happy with the GMTIIC. Skip the DSSD.

I wear my DSSD 24/7....including many others on here from all walks of life. Nothing else speaks to me in the Rolex line other than the Sub HULK. Maybe next year....but I'm happy with one right now.

... Sub c everyone has one...
Pretty much to the truth well at lease the Sub. 85% rollies I see in the wild is belongs to the sub family. Since you already have the uber awesome GMT perhaps you could expand your collection with a DD or even a used AP... Yeah... AP.. that would be nice eh? :D If I really had to choose. I would have gone for a vintage Sub.. 5513 from the 80s or something. That's a truly classic and perhaps a good investment as well. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
