FS: Rolex DRSD 1665 (Mk3 dial), 3.1 Mil, RARE & GORGEOUS!!
FS: Rolex "DRSD" Sea-Dweller (Ref: 1665, SN: 3118xxx), with RARE MK3 dial. Absolutely gorgeous matching patina on dial & hands, and a beautiful "Ghost Grey" bezel insert (with pearl intact). The watch has the Triplock crown (with 3-dots), but retains the old-style tube (with no visible rubber gasket). The watch also retains its original super-dome crystal!!
The numbers between the lugs are VERY crisp and clear, and the lugs are thick and meaty. The case is very clean (not over polished) and has no major dings or chips. The bezel action is very smooth. Not too tight and not sloppy. We obtained the watch from the original owner and it had been sitting in his safe for over 15 years. The watch was serviced only once in its lifetime -- service mark is visible on the inside caseback (below). The movement is VERY clean with hardly a scratch on it. It is keeping good time, but a "clean/oil/adjust" would be recommended before wearing it. Again, we have NOT serviced the movement. In fact, the ONLY thing we did was remove the dial/movement, ultrasonic the case and bracelet and buff the crystal a little. Other than that, it is AS FOUND! A real time-capsule. The watch also retains its original (folded-link) Oyster bracelet (9315 w/ 285 endpieces), and typo "PATETED" divers' extension. Bracelet looks pretty good. The inside caseback shows the date code 1.72, as does the bracelet clasp. Please take note, the inside caseback shows the last 3-digit serial from the watch incorrectly. The caseback shows "154". While the "1" & "5" are correct, the last digit of the serial number of the watch is not "4". While this is unfortunate, it is not all that uncommon. We have seen other examples where the wrong caseback was installed at the factory at the time of manufacture. This is pretty obvious when only the last digit is wrong. Please review the pics below. Some of the pics were taken BEFORE the ultrasonic cleaning and crystal polish. While the dial has a few small spots, they are NOT really visible under the crystal and require a loupe. This watch is a real head turner! The watch has no box or papers. RETURN POLICY: All sales final unless item is not as described. Please ask all questions before purchase. I am available via telephone to answer all questions. Watches sold in as-is condition. Full refund if not as described (less shipping/insurance), and the watch must be shipped back within 2 days after received, and in same condition. PRICE: The watch is offered at $24,950, including free world-wide shipping via Fed-ex (insured via Jewel Systems). PAYMENT: Bank wire transfer, or face-to-face in St Petersburg, FL. Worldwide references available. IWJG, NAWCC & WWT Member in good standing. John E. Brozek [email protected] 727.204.1184 (The following pic was taken "as found" and before the crystal was polished, therefore the scratches you see are on the crystal and not on the dial.) |
