Was at my local Starbucks today getting an iced coffee when I noticed the guy in front of me wearing a classic 16610. I complimented him and then they guy insulted me by stating that my LV-C was a "cartoonish" fake.

Without hesitation, I corrected him that mine was the new updated ceramic model in green. He then continued to state that mine was a "nice blingy fake" and to go buy a real one like his.

I just shook my head and walked away before I hit that a**hat in the face.

What a prick!

Forums are full of us watch guys striking up a convo with a non watch guy it always turns out ugly. I for one don't do it anymore. Sorry you had such a bad experience!

Sad because it's so cool when you see another person with a cool watch. The excitement is rarely ever shared and usually taken wrong so unless someone asks me first I keep my mouth shut

While the OP had the misfortune of encountering someone who was very rude, some of the replies here make me think that some of the posters are 12 year olds. Advocating physical violence - really? I mean, really? It's easy to be an internet tough guy. In the real world, there are consequences for such actions.

I did not pursue anything because it was obvious that this Rolex owner was all about "status" and not appreciative like us WIS's here on the forum.

truth is half the 16610s , datejusts etc we spot in the 'wild' are fakes anyways

unless you actually handle the watch its pretty hard to determine if the guy has a fake or authentic.

i simply dont comment on anyones watches. a WIS is so far and few between that its simply a waste of time.

That's not only horrible - its deplorable! I compliment if I see a nice watch but I won't respond negatively if they do just because it makes them think it is ok.
