Daytona 116505 vs Omega sea master pink gold

Hello all,

Do you like gold, so stay, otherwise, close this post, because it will shine
I present a Dayto 116,505 in rose gold 40mm and a Sea Master Planet Ocean Chronograph 45mm.
The weight of both pieces is therefore, even if the Omega is mounted on Nato

Flange, engraved rolexrolexrolex, gold indexes covered in black, pink dial and black sub-dial for Rolex

Black dial, date, index longer, 3-6-9-12, Broad Arrow hands for Omega

Pushers for our two models, however the crown is just pushing on the SM

The clasp: orgasmic!

The case back of the SM

The "faces" of two beauties
Tachometer bezel on the Rolex, diving bezel and a helium valve screwed on the Omega
No anti-reflection on the Dayto

wrist-shot

My impressions:
The 116505 is absolutely stunning, has a rose gold charm and unusual dial, in fact: the atomic bomb
However the Sea Master has not fared not so bad, even dressed in a simple piece of cloth, it provides a nice presence on the wrist, and I must admit, its dial is more readable.
So which of the two models would you take?
Thanks for reading

I'd have to flip a coin. I guess I'd pick the Daytona but the PO is just as awesome and has a date. Still the Daytona is timeless. If a YG Daytona I'd prob go with the PO then. That RG is stunning.

Nice pictures Both examples are stunning.

If it's to be your one and only watch I'd pick the PO, easier to read, and superior lume.

If not your only watch, Daytona, no contest.

Odd comment but I love the caseback on the Omega. For me the two watches while similar looking have different intentions. Choose the one whose function better serves you. If you don't race cars or spend a lot of time at sea, then go with the Daytona. Beautiful piece.

Usually, I despise NATO straps with a passion but I have to confess it looks simply stunning on that PO!

A fabulous pair of watches!!

My 116505 says hello :-)

But I do like the Omega, serious wrist presence!

As far as comparing brands though, I reckon the AT or Speedy is a closer match to the Daytona?

Or

IMO, gold is best for dressier watches. Also, the Daytona always looks pretty dressy to me, even in stainless, because of all the shiny surfaces. Large, very sporty watches in gold are just not very true to the watch's design, so I prefer the Daytona in gold.

I like gold watches and like the Omega, but the Daytona is the better choice.

I'm sure if you had posted this question in an Omega forum, you'd be getting a different response .... :-)

Daytona. That PO is a beast on you. And I don't really get the idea of a solid gold diver with external HEV.

In saying this, I don't really like Daytona's.........

On the Daytona, is that SEL fit normal on this model?

Due to my love of rolex, I want to say rose gold daytona.

But the gold omega looks so much better on the wrist, beautiful presence and size.

I imagine in the long run, the daytona would have better value.

I don't like chronographs, but I love the rose gold. 116505 would be my pick

That Daytona is beautiful... I personally don't like anything bigger than 40mm... Rolex is timeless classic...

But each to their own... it's your money!

Nice comparison. And great photos of the pair. Daytona is my favorite by far.

Different watches on different wrists, though.

I cannot help but wonder how the two watches look on the same wrist. I have always thought that smaller wrists are perfectly suited for a smaller diameter watch….and some larger watches dwarf a smaller wrist…

Thanks for sharing!
