If Rolexes were BMWs
Here's my take:
DJ 3-series DJII M3 GMT-Master II 5-series Submariner 6-series Explorer X3 Explorer II X5 Milgauss X6 DD 7-series Daytona M6 Skydweller Z8 I know I didn't get all the models and variations (metals/engines) and some were tough calls. Would welcome other views, and obviously there are no right and wrong answers. |

The milgauss defintely the 6 series, both were discontinued due to lack of popularity and both got back :)

If Rolex watxches were BMWs they would be reliable and durable, they would hold their value and they woul-d only require spa time about once every five years - or less!

If Rolex was like BMW, they would not be reliable nor durable, and they would retain their value horribly compared to other car companies such as Lexus. The only way Rolex I see is just like BMW an exact match, is advertising. BMW is one of the top brands that spend most money on advertisements. Why do you think BMW has become such a big name in cars, advertising... Only difference is, Rolex is actually good. But still not as good as other brands who dont advertise as much, such as PP and VC for example.. |

So a Rolex=Rolls and PP=MB........
Huge Rolex fan here but really (I love Rolex but I'm not pretending it's something equal to the others as far as ranking watches)... There is a reason PP, VC, AP are widely considered the top watchmakers. Thea threads don't do anything but try to compare apples to cows. Cool idea but never works. |

A few of my friends drive BMWs and they've caused them nothing but problems.
A better comparison for Rolex would be Lexus. Those cars are known for luxury and reliability, similar to Rolex watches. |

I have DSSD and BMW X5 M Sport - both black, too big for actual need, both never used for design (diving and off-road), but both are fantastic!

I'm being serious here but do you really think the X5 M is too big and an "off road" car. The DSSD should be grouped with the Excursion. Awesome bit so over engineered it's almost impractical.

My X5 never goes off-road, it might get dirty! However, when the snow and ice came in the Winter in the Netherlands, with winter tyres it was very secure.
The X5 is like many things that we buy far in excess of what we need, but it's all a balance on how you want to spend your earnings, some folks like holidays others Rolex and BMW. One thing for sure is that my BMW will loose considerably more money until it is worth nothing within 2 decades, the Rolex shouldn't. |

Dont know about the reasoning behind matching Rolex/BMW but in my case.....135i and Submariner because I own both and very happy with my decisions.

Not really, because if you want to use Analogies, is the Tudor truly a Rolex ?? because as sure as eggs are eggs the Lexus is a Toyota.
