Spent most of the day on the phone trying to get a deal done on this.....

Finally managed to strike a deal on this baby late this afternoon. Here's a bit of history on the watch if your interested. (text copied from elsewhere) There is also a nice box of which I don't have any pics.

What makes this watch so rare is that it was made in a special Micro edition of only 20 individually numbered watches. Each watch was made with a special edition strap, individually numbered to match each watch, and the strap is made from specially aged vintage leather. Also, the set is complemented with a leather belt which is adjustable and will fit up to a 42 inch waist from the same aged leather. IF that isn't enough, the set even comes with a special leather carry case to hold the watch, extra straps and a screwdriver. Oh and don't forget about the special 10 pound coffee table book with details the exploits of the oX Mas flotilla special force divers, the original underwater demolition teams of WW I and WW II. This is a rare, seldom seen special edition set that is nearly impossible to find......

Thanks

Was a long day. These Pam dealers are not to open to any dealing, but I managed to get it at price I was comfortable with.

Yep, I hear you. Panerai is experiencing more demand than the number of watches they can produce, which is a win-win for them. They very actively control the number of ADs by region, etc. And they rigidly control the price model for all of their lines.

And they make some truly beautiful looking watches.

Congrats again, Mike! Looking forward to seeing some real-time / proud owner pics. And taking a look at it over a coffee one day down in the capital.

James

Congrats Mike !

It was certainly worth the effort and just think of all the fun you will be able to have with strap changes.

It might even be worth storing the original straps for future investment protection.

Definitely storing the numbered strap away.
