Exp II on the balcony
Price Harry was today sporting his Exp II (42 mm Polar) during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee proceedings.
Can be seen during his stint on the balcony @ Buckingham Palace. |

It's always been his watch of choice.
Saying that if he was wearing it with a suit then I am unimpressed. I missed the jubilee coverage unfortunately. We've been partying all day, which although nice for the community means I haven't actually seen the Queen all weekend. |

My gf just showed me the pictures on the bbc website.
They are both wearing stainless steel sports watches with full on formal attire. I'm talking double breasted waist coats and long formal jackets. Maybe it's just the snobbery that comes from being the nephew of a tailor but I really do think that's bad form. This isn't wearing a sports watch with a suit. It's wearing a sports watch with basically the most formal clothing you can have. Not impressed. |

I think SS sports watches can pass on suits but that level of formality ? It's a big no no for me. At one of my uncle's birthdays I met a few of his tailor friends and it's a pretty big pet peeve for them. Each to one's own I guess. |

[QUOTE=jay1988;3338298]You wear a tailcoat and a double breasted waistcoat every day ? What do you do for a living ?
The clue is in the name. |

Whilst I am certain that the second & third in line to the throne of Great Britain would be devastated to learn that the "nephew of a tailor" disapproves of their choices of watch. It remains, nonetheless that the real beauty of a Rolex is that it really is a 'man for all seasons' and can (as was proved today) be worn at all occasions. . . |

You're acting like I'm writing a letter to Buckingham palace. I know that the princes will never read this. Also being third in line to the throne is a birth right. He could be a serial killing white supremacist and he would still be third in line to the throne. It is no reflection on him as a person. Being a nephew of a tailor does mean something. It's not a qualification but my uncle has been teaching me things for as long as I can remember. He's always given me style advice and it has served me well. There is no style police and no style law however I don't know many people who would not put a tailor at the top of the list of people who know about mens style. Nothing was proven today. You can't prove something like this. If Harry does something that doesn't prove it is right. It will always be an opinion and mine is that no sports watch is an all occasion watch. |

I've lost you ? The guy who starts a sentence by saying "your uncle is wrong" then ends it with "there are no rights or wrongs" ? I have never said they were doing anything wrong. I have said things like "big no no for me" and you're acting like I've asked for a law to be put into place on the matter. The basis for your argument is that the Royal Family doing something makes it right is one of the strangest things I've read on this forum. Two guys who were born into their positions have made a man who has spent the last 50 years in the business of mens style wrong ? Bearing in mind being a prince isn't a title associated with style. Got to be one of the most idiotic things I've every read. Prince Charles had multiple affairs. Should I go and tell my uncle that being loyal to his wife for 30 years is wrong because a Prince does otherwise ? Brilliant. |

Their grandfather has a great Patek Philippe collection which I'm sure they have access to and yet they choose to wear rather simple sport watches for whatever reason it may be. This to me shows more character than having the "appropriate" watch. Here is a glimpse: |

really?
while i am impressed with the observation that ss sport watch aren't to be worn with forma attire... i am not at all impressed with the amount of money a democratic nation is wasting on monarchy upkeep... no one is gonna tell them to go away... they should just look in the mirror and realize they're useless in this new world order... |

Two million people came to watch them today and that's just one day. They also bring in more money than they spend. They unite us as a country and a community. I've never seen so much togetherness in my area as there has been this weekend. |
