I finally joined the family!

I've been looking at Rolexes for the last 8 or 9 years and never pulled the trigger on one. I always wanted a Submariner 16610 but I wanted something similar (similar case, rotating bezel, etc.) but a little a different at the same time but could never figure out what that was.

So yesterday I stopped by my local AD and the sales person informed me he just had an older gentlemen trade in a nice watch an hour prior to my arrival and he knew I'd like it. So he brings it out. It was an N serial GMT Master II coke with full paperwork, receipts, boxes, service receipts, etc. I fell in love with the watch!

It was in really great shape for it's age and my AD was willing to send it to RSC for a full service at no cost to me. So I bought it and feel I got a fair deal on it.

Now I have to wait for the watch to get serviced. It's going to be torture waiting but I'm very excited to get it.

Today is my first Father's Day so I'd say it's a pretty nice way to celebrate! Check it out (there is a little fuzz in one of the corners of the case from the old box it was sitting in. The RSC should clean it up).

The coke GMT is a beauty, I traded mine and now every time I see one I regret it. Enjoy!

Good news, makes you wonder how little they paid the chap that traded it in if they can afford to RSC service it...

The patina is great on that watch dial
