"New" GMT II c - bracelet stretch?
Hi everyone,
Just purchased a "safe queen" GMT II c. There seems to be lots of bracelet stretch compared to an M-Serial Sea-Dweller and my DeepSea. I was told the links on the new 116710's are spread further apart giving it the look of some bracelet stretch compared to my other two watches. Can anyone confirm? Many thanks! |

Absolutely no bracelet stretch on mine, super tight. Have you got pics?? That would be helpful. Links on mine are maybe 0.5mm apart.

I, too, would like to see pics. There was no stretch in mine. It was typical Rolex quality - tight, just as your "safe queen" should be.

I haven't seen any 116710 bracelets show any stretch at all...and I've had some come in pretty beat up.

Yes certainly need some pics. I had not seen one with stretch until recently. My AD's son has a 116710 and has worn in quite hard for the past 2 years and it is very stretched... It does happen

you've got to show the pictures of the watch and bracelet and let us see that you mean by stretch.

I would doubt that there is any bracelet stretch. The newer bracelets are solid link, so there is little to no play in them..
You cannot lay one side-by-side with an early hollow bracelet and discern "stretch".. Stretch, or more correctly "excess wear" is physically noted as excessive movement because the parts are worn down, not a measured gap between links.

Definitely need pics. I highly doubt it is a stretched bracelet.

A more important issue for me, why do you have two accounts here on TRF!?? You and the original poster are one in the same....That is against forum rules!!

That bracelet looks like new. I would not worry at all. As to the "stretch" or wear, I will try to get some pics from my Ad's son and his 116710, I think we all would be amazed. Let me text him

Ah, I've checked out your video and I now see what you mean. There does seem to be more play in the bracelet than mine. My GMT-IIc is like your SDDS, very tight. It could be just normal production tolerances though, I don't know. But thanks for your video, it's shows what you were trying to explain in your posting.

Definitely feels like there is more play. The explanation I received from the seller is this: " Look at the spacing on my few month old random serial ceramic sub. I have. 6.75 in wrist. These bracelets don't come super tight where there's no spacing between links like the old bracelets. " ... I've just seen so much out there, I would hate if this bracelet was switched or otherwise. I might swing by Rolex here on Monday and have it looked at to make sure everything is kosher. |
