could really use your guys help

hi my name is sandy and my father recently passed away and we are getting ready to sell his things i dont know much about his watch ir if it is real
i live in a small town of paris tenn and took it to a jeweler here and he said it looks real

there are no local rolex dealers to take it
could really use opinions

it does have a small etching in the crystal on the bottom if you look close

band looks a little discolored but still looks gold

It's very difficult to assess the watch with such poor detail pictures. Your best bet would be to take it to Little's Jewelers in Jackson, TN. They are the closest Rolex AD to Paris.

These guys are right in town beside the medical center.
They'll let you know if it's genuine if you try selling it.

Honestly I think you should keep and cherish your father's watch forever.

Lock it up? It's just a watch. Wear it and remember you dad. It's worth the same on your wrist as in a safe. On your wrist will give you a smile.

abm82 should be banned. I don't like new members creating an account just to get an evaluation on a questionable watch with terrible photos. What is "her/his" real motive?

Chillax, dude.

Some of the coolest stories come from ppl who just had a watch land in their lap. If the watch is fake or the poster is a scammer, it will become abundantly clear -- the folks hereabouts leave no stone unturned.

People that create fake Rolex watches will sometimes start these types of posts to see if their product can pass for real from discerning eyes.

True, and if your wrong? The guys dad just passed man, and this is the first site that pops up. It also takes some time to get aquainted to the Inherint culture here.

I say give the guy a chance. If it pops up in the for sale section, than I will re-evaluate.

Abm sorry for your loss

You need to lighten up or face the consequences.

The OP asked a civil question about his late father's watch.

I looks ok to me but I would need to see it or have it checked out.

I think an apology is in order.

Relax! Give the OP a chance. Let's see how this progresses before passing judgement.

wow that is so harsh.. I always hate when new comers to trf get this sort of treatment.. innocent until proven guilty the guys father has passed away give him a break! Anyway if that is really an authentic day date its a lovely piece to inherit and cherish for the rest of your life. Wear it with fond memories !

This is no way to welcome a new member that inherited a watch

It does really happen and some people wouldn't know a rolex from a rock. I found this site from doing a Google search as it comes up usually 1st or 2nd on Google. So, to find us, TRF, by getting on-line is more than luck, it's only a matter of time

Believe it or not, before I started on TRF I didn't even own a camera. Seeing great pictures here motivated me to improve my photo technology...

OP, welcome, take some links out and enjoy that beautiful watch that Sonny Crockett sported in so many episodes....,

IMO it's too soon abm82. Your dad just recently passed. This is a great place. Tell us the story of your dad and how he came to own this classic looking watch. This watch doesn't have a value. It's priceless. Let your kids worry about the value.

Oh wait. In 2009? Yes I see the new clasp, but correct me if I'm wrong, 2009 rolex's DO NOT have green stickers on the back. Instead the serial is at the 6 o'clock in the bezel...true?
